Margaritaville Orlando is local for me so I visit on a regular basis. A dear friend of mine keeps things running smoothly on the Porch of Indecision, so it's a treat to just get to visit with her. I have noticed lately that when she's not working things don't run that smoothly. My last 2 experiences there were not great.... hostess was rude and the service was awful. I filled out a comment card and had the option of giving my contact information, which I did, but no one contacted me from M'ville. I also spoke to a manager on my last trip there.
As far as the Lone Palm... if you want service it's best to sit at the bar. And yes the food isn't great... more like stadium food... just something to soak up the alcohol.
There are so many great places to eat in Orlando (and at the City Walk) that I don't make a special trip to dine there. I'll save my trips to Margaritaville for when BNers and parrothead friends come to town... it's a great meeting place... good music on the Porch and a chance to buy your parrothead "stuff" at the store.

Thanks! It's been a great time so far. We tried to make it to the Atlanta concert, but had a hard time justifying the seven hour drive, hotel expense, etc, with no tickets. Buying tickets well above actual cost via ebay wasn't going to happen. I don't mind paying face value, but I have a real hard time supporting the above-retail cost of tickets.

Oh well, hopefully JB will entertain the Floridians sometime this year!

Thanks! I love the hat, def. original and unique! So, as I've read through some of the history here, it certainly looks like there's little chance of getting concert tickets... let alone good seats.

The lawn sounds like it's where the party is at (as well as the parking lot!), so maybe 'seats' don't really matter too much. Is there much luck in sneaking in a beverage or two at most places?

it is a matter of patience, re: tickets. Candy and I had planned to go to Alpine just for the tailgate and to see friends. I ended up with a pair of pavillion seats (with hospitality area passes and all that) from a lady on eBay for less than face two days before the show. It was something of a surprise for Candy.. :)

So.. make the plans to join the crew because if you go (even without tickets) you'll meet a lot of great people. (and you can probably score tickets in the lot for face value too)

please keep inmind that the lone palm is more of a drink stand than anything else. The food they do offer is all quick and easy, nothing like you will find inside.

Last weeekend while we were there, we started talking to an inside bartender and he told us (for what it is worth) that the bartenders out at the lone palm are the newer folks learning the ropes.

It is what it is and yes folks do expect the full M'ville experience from the lone palm and some can be disappointed but now that you know, you know. Go back and enjoy your jet ski thrillers!!
