Your Favorite Chain Restaurant?

Post by krusin1 »

First, I'm like a lot of you and when traveling prefer to eat where the locals do, but it's just not always an option.

I'm going to be on the road quite a bit in the next few weeks, and was looking for some suggestions.

So, besides M'Ville locations and CIP's, what chains do you prefer? :D

Other than the fast food places I sometimes grab for lunch, I haven't eaten at any of those chains in over a year.

I happen to like Applebee's, with the exception of the Atlantic City restaurant everyone I've been to has been enjoyable, good food, good service, cheap beer, tall glasses 8) (although they didn't serve Yuengling in North Carolina :o)

Applebees is a safe bet with decent food. I prefer local places when I am traveling with Mr. Top.... but when traveling alon for business I tend to stay close to the hotel which means Bennigians, Chilis, Applebees.

Yep... that is what I usually do. :)

I love Denny's for breakfast - I used to work there a long time ago, and still love the food. Most don't, but that's ok. :)

I worked at Denny's too. I can't eat there any more, though.

depends on what I have time for and the situation. Boston Market is always good. As is Chipotle.

Although I have recently disavowed polls (both giving and taking) that don't have anything to do with Jimmy Buffett, I decided to register my vote for "Other", but without the corollaries of packing lunches or eating from convenience store shelves.

If time allows, I usually try to hunt down something local (with the help of front desk/ concierge) or stick with room service.

Yum!!!! Culvers is usually a safe bet. I will do some chain restaurants when out of town, but usually not the ones listed.

Especially if it involves chocolate pudding, whipped cream, a rubber sheet and a hot blonde.

You forgot to mention Hard Rock Cafe. I've been to nearly 100 of them in nearly every corner of the world (except down under). The food is not the best in the world, but one thing I can say, it is consistant (quality and taste) at EVERY location.

Aside from that, I try to find a one of the little local places that is clean and recommended from other locals.

I've only been to Outback a time or two and steaks were good, but you're right... Pricey!

Reading other posts... I've seen Culver's (Butterburgers) but never have tried one. Gonna have to, it looks like. 8)
