some of Jimmy's stuff is romantic but it's not music to make music by for us
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

Thankfully it's not the only time I listen to Jimmy. Otherwise I'd only get to listen to him a couple of times a month.

At least you have his music so sooth your soul in the "downtime" you have every month. 8)

Look at it this way: nothing you could say about your private life could be as embarrassing as Rush Limbaugh's recent airport escapade. Now THAT is too funny.

Hey...lay off poor Rush. If he didn't take those pills it would always be pointing to the far right. ( I know, that was pretty dumb, but it's all I had).

I think the "far right" controls his manhood anyway. Taking them hostage would be the only way they could keep all that crazy stuff spewing out of his fat mouth. Pure fear. :pirate:

This is an article I found years ago:

http://www.infobuddy.com/articles/buffettviagra.html

Jimmy Buffett Music May Rival Viagra

Pittsburgh-based scientist and inventor, Dr. J. A. Resnick, says that a preliminary study of persons using the stimulant, Viagra, indicates that these types of patients may be able to achieve the same degree of arousal simply by listening to Jimmy Buffett music. In a preliminary press release issued on 12/22/98, Resnick stated that he conducted a number of studies with volunteers who were using the prescription drug Viagra and compared these with a separate group of volunteers who did not use any drugs, but listened to “Buffett Music” instead.

The study consisted of eight male subjects with the average age of 47 years, who are heterosexual and were married for at least eight years. Fifty percent of the group (4 subjects) were using the prescription drug, Viagra, and fifty percent used no drugs at all. The study was conducted over a two-day period. Each subject was fitted with an instrument known as a plethmosizmometer, a device which measures and records events of male sexual during a specific period of time, 48 hours in this case. In a normal, sexually-active and functional male for age groups between 35-50 years who is not using Viagra, it is common for the male to experience as many as five arousal episodes during the course of a 24 hour period, with three or more of these events occurring during shallow sleep (where brain activity is between 3-5 Hertz). In the case of Viagra users, a state of arousal is maintained for long periods of time and may range from between 4 to 12 hours whether sleep is involved or not.

Prior to commencing the study each of the volunteers was subjected to a battery of comprehensive physiological studies using a 12-Channel Grass Instruments Polygraph machine. Dr. Resnick, who prides his ownership of such an instrument, claims the he “can measure any physiological event in your body…from the pressure on your ocular nerve…to the lymphatic coefficient in the cells comprising your nasal sinus”. Physiological data gathered included included, Blood Pressures, EKG’s, EEG’s, Heart Rates, Tidal Volumes, and Vital Capacities, and several questions using Galvanometric parameters (lie detetor-type). The Plethmometers were calibrated and set to zero prior to dispensing, and each volunteer was instructed in its proper use and care.

For the study , participants were instructed to carry out normal daily activities, but wre required to listen to “island music”, more specifically, “Jimmy Buffett Music”, at least five times during the course of a 24 hour interval. At least one song was to be played at least 15 minutes before retiring for the evening, regardless of whether a sexual act was part of a scheduled routine or use of Viagra was planned for that evening or not.

“The data retrieved from the Plethmometers was most compelling”, Resnick said. “According to the digital records contained in the Plethmometers each of the subjects became moderately aroused while listening to the Jimmy Buffett music”, Resnick continued. “3 of the 4 Viagra patients showed an increase in frequency and duration of arousal without use of Viagra when listening to Buffett music during the course of a normal day. Non-Viagra users’ data indicated a remarkable increase in both duration, intensity…and frequency…when listening to the Buffett tunes”, Resnick said. Resnick said that, “invariably, each of the subjects responded by exhibiting conditions of heightened and intense arousal when subjected to the Buffett tunes just before retiring. Even the Viagra users were able to achieve a condition of intensified arousal during aural (as opposed to oral) stimulation. And, I find this to be quite remarkable!”

Resnick said that he decided to conduct this “mini-study” when he noticed a marked change in the disposition of persons who were attending a social event which several Jimmy Buffett songs were played. In a conclusion Resnick said, “Although such a small sampling of individuals does not a real study make, if I could get whatever it is…in that music…into a bottle…I could sell it by the boatloads!”.

Just don't start crying during "Desperado" or it'll ruin the mood.

That makes two lucky ducks, then, because I'm quite lucky to have lots of love in my life as well. Love does seem to make life worthwhile, doesn't it?

I had to think long and hard about this. Jimmy isn't music I normally think of as 'sexy' music, but there's something about a jacuzzi and putting on the Volcano album that is just awesome. It starts out upbeat, and by the time you get to "Survive" it's all about the lovin'.

Jimmy has some great love songs that put you in the mood, but maybe not for the duration of the main event. I kinda like makin' my own music.
