Our preacher has been out the last two Sundays for "Presbyterian School" since he was a Baptist preacher and we hired him, he had to do this just for learning purposes. The Presbyterian college sent a well-respected professor, Biblical scholar (she's also the chaplain to replace him these past two Sundays. She did a wonderful job, was very interesting. Our choir director didn't come to church last Sunday because he doesn't approve of WOMEN preachers. He GETS PAID to do this job, and didn't do his job because of his prejudice. This guy is in his thirties, ought to know better. I have to go to choir practice on Wednesday and I am afraid I may take his tiny head off. But then I think, "no, I'll just let it pass". Then I'll get all riled up again.
I want to tell him "oh gosh, I'm a woman, should I even be in the choir?"
But then, he ain't the brightest bulb in the pack, so I think I should let it go, maybe inform him gently and slowly about the facts of life in the 21st century. ????? What are some things I could say to get my disappointment across? My hubby was so incensed when he heard this, he thinks the church shouldn't pay him for last Sunday (dock his pay) !!!!!!
I know my anger isn't very Christian, but GAH !!!
I could call him a misogynist to his face, but he wouldn't know what that was !
