Meals when it's hot . . .
seem pretty unappetizing. Not just the prep, but eating, too.
What are some foods you select when it is this hot???

I make a pasta salad ( basic recipe ) is usually angel hair pasta, imitation crab meat, green peas, and Miricle Whip, salt pepper, lemon juice, maybe a dash or two of Garlic powder and or Nature's Seasonings.
You can add to it as you like......
Crackers with cheese and cold cuts, (various cheeses and cold cuts) some olives,or veggie platter type stuff.
I cook outside a lot when possible to save from heating up the house. So whatever I grill, seafood, shrimp, scallops, fish, "kibobs", veggies, or burgers or hotdogs or beef, or chicken, or pork chops, can usually be eaten later and heated in the microwave or placed back on the grill if neccesary to be warmed or heated.
Ices are good and easy to make too and are wonderful on hot days.

I do that too.Sam wrote:I make a pasta salad
I get rotini pasta (colored w/ tomato and spinach and stuff) and add Paul Newman's olive oil salad dressing. i had chunks o cheese (feta or cheddar both work really well), red onion, black olives, artichoke hearts, and anything else yummy.
I usually make it for large family functions and have gobs and gobs of it and it keeps well and is soooooooooooooooo yummy.

Love the pasta salad! Veggies are so amazing grilled, too. Outdoors is even too hot to fire the grill up today -- whew.Sam wrote:I make a pasta salad ( basic recipe ) is usually angel hair pasta, imitation crab meat, green peas, and Miricle Whip, salt pepper, lemon juice, maybe a dash or two of Garlic powder and or Nature's Seasonings.
