Sunscreen for sensitive skin...recommendations...

Hey everyone. My son has horrible bouts with eczema. He had been clear for almost a year then earlier this summer he was all sorts of flared up.

So far we've been able to figure out it's likely the sunscreen that is affecting his skin so badly. We've always used the Coppertone Water Babies SPF 45 on both kids, but I think we're gonna have to change before the poor 'lil guy scratches all his skin off.

I think we're gonna try the Aveeno brand sunscreen.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

That very well could be, but if I put anything labeled Mary Kay on my son, Mr. Macho Hubby Man would likely turn me in for child abuse.

And I don't want to deal with all the hoo-ha of having a Mary Kay rep.

psssst! That's why I use it. He'll get over it. As long as you don't do what Mrs. TR did and teach your BOY to pee sitting down on the toilet :o Then you'll have a problem :D I fixed that as SOON as I found out about it

most chemicals cause pretty bad rashes on my face (hence the beard), i've had pretty good luck with banana boat faces sunblock.

pretty much every sunblock has the same basic ingredients, so read the labels and compare and experiment. walgreens still sells plain ol zinc oxide.

George: 25? You don't have anything higher?

Jerry: What, are you on Mercury?

George: I need higher. This has paba in it, I need paba-free.

Jerry: You got a problem with paba?

George: Yes, I have a problem with paba.

Jerry: You don't even know what paba is.

George: I know enough to stay away from it.

This one???

In the bleachers at the tennis court. Two players are hitting the ball back and forth.

Jerry: Are these seats unbelievable or what?

George: Where's the sunblock?

Jerry: Here.

He learned sitting down, facing backward, but as soon as he had the whole potty training down-pat, we got him to do it standing up. He's an old pro now.

He actually "watered a tree" for the first time last weekend.

Totally, but it works.

We're going to Mexico in October, so I want to find something that works really well on him so we don't have a toasted Tony on our vacation.

Might I also suggest swim shirts? Both Blake and DeeDee wore those while we were in Hilton Head...never complained about them. Body Glove makes them, I'm sure others do to.

Not sure if it'd help you son's skin or not, but "Bullfrog" brand is THE BEST stuff I've ever found. It's spray-on and feels really light - not creamy type stuff and it WORKS. Being non-oily, maybe it'd work for your son.

We were in FL earlier this summer, and the whole family used Coppertone the first day and got burned - 'cept me. :D I had pulled the Bullfrog out of the golf bag before she got to me so was already covered.

By the end of the week we had about a dozen bottles of Bullfrog laying around and had no more problems with sunburn.

Plus... BULLFROG is really manly. :pirate:
