What do you think of when you hear the word “ukulele”? Don Ho? That song from the The Jerk? Well, all that will change when you see Jake Shimabukuro play Nightfall this Friday.

Dubbed by FRETS Magazine as the “Jimi Hendrix of the Ukulele,” the 29 year-old Shimabukuro has become the world’s unofficial reigning master of the instrument, using it to channel a wide variety of influences—ranging from Paganini and Chick Corea to Béla Fleck, Paco De Lucia, surf music and classic rock—and to showcase his own deft and equally-varied compositions.
