Based on a conversation tonight in the MSC...
Do you like 'em or hate 'em??

I cant answer the poll question .. because ...
I like them fresh ...
I like them in tomato sauce .. not ketchup (our version of Ketchup)
I like them in Spaghetti bolognaise, but no other pasta sauce
I like tomato soup
I dont like them lumpy in anything cooked - I only use tomato paste for spag bol.
I also, while I like fresh tomato, I dont like them combined with hot food - ie on a burger

I have to say no to that.

DITTO TO ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!
My wife makes some DYNAMITE fried green tomatoes.
Also-her home made salsa is to die for.
We've been together for 13 years-the last time I bought salsa at a store was 14 years ago.

substitute salsa for ketchup, and we are good. Tomatoes are your friend.

In the past twenty years or so tomatoes have grown on me immensely.
(You orta see these suckers.)
I hated 'em as a kid. Then I came to terms with tomato sauces and salsa.
Now I'll eat about any which way.

This is a great cooked relish recipe that my BIL's family has always made and believe me it is good on everything and I love it on eggs.
Ma Hiller's Tomato Relish
12 tomatoes
4 bell peppers
1 onion
1 cup sugar
1 cup vinegar
1 T prepared mustard
1 T chili powder
1 t cinnamon
1 T salt
Cook until thick/about an hour.
It's a sweet, neat change from those hot salsas since it only has bell peppers.

SURE!
I'm not so sure you'd want to eat them once they got there, however.

VERY hot on nachos with VERY cold beer.
That's GOT to be what Heaven is like.

if it's a tomato it's edible
I love them right out of the garden, I do not like "hot house" tomatos in the winter time nor do I like to put my garden fresh ones in the frig after slicing.
I love fried green ones any season.
And those yummy cherry tomatos that pop in your mouth that you usually eat in salads.
Nothing like a HUGE tomato slice between two pieces of bread with mayo, salt and pepper or hell, leave off the bread and mayo
