Raffle/Drawing Benefit for Mark Mulligan
Mulligan Family Benefit Raffle
Mark Mulligan’s wife, Adela perished in an automobile accident in Mexico and his two sons were seriously injured. To help with the expenses we will have a concurrent Internet and a live raffle with all the funds going to benefit the kids. ( www.billypeoples.com/raffle.htm )
The raffles will be conducted on 14 October 1- 4 PM at Rapscallion In Land O Lakes Florida - www.rapscallions.net/ . Performers, Jack Mosley - http://jackmosley.com and Patrick Foy – http://www.conchcritters.com .
Here is how the Internet raffle will work. We had a benefit for the Salty Watkin’s family after he was killed in action in Iraq in 2003. Here is the link to the old site - www.billypeoples.com/raffle-salty.htm
What we are asking for is pledged items from anyone or groups who will donate. The items are to be held by the donor(s) and shipped to the winners after the drawings. I will post the items and after the drawing will send the names and addresses so the donated gifts can be shipped to the winners. If the person donating will provide me with links or URLs I will be glad to post that information, I also will need a physical as well as an email address.
To participate (donate money) and become a winner a ticket will be placed in the drawing for each $5 donation. Each ticket will be numbered in accordance with the total dollars donated. If you donate $100 you will have 20 tickets in the bucket and may win as many times as your number is drawn. We did have some multiple winners in the raffle for the Watkins family. To assist me in this endeavor Patti Janco will handle the funds, placing the numbers in the bucket and maintaining records so that the donated items can be shipped to the winners. I will keep the webpage updated so you can see the pledges and will list the funds we receive. The premier event will be an Internet raffle that will allow the Parrothead world and anyone else to participate. At Rapscallions, in addition to the drawing for the donated items, we will have both a live raffle and a silent auction for those in attendance.
Please send all funds and ticket requests to:
Patti Janco - 85264 Haddock Road - Yulee, FL 32097
Email – pgjanco@bellsouth.net
Please contact me to donate Internet Items and for additional information.
Billy Peoples - 135 Ganey Lane – Satsuma, FL 32189
Email – bpeoples@se.rr.com
To donate live raffle items and/or the silent auction please mail to Billy Peoples or deliver to Rapscallions on the 14th of October.

Anything that someone would be interested in winning. I suspect anything autographed by Jimmy or other independant type artists. I would also suspect CD's, books, both non tropical tropical. Tropical shirts, concert shirts, posters, you know the typical stuff parrotheads would bid on.SMLCHNG wrote:What kind of items are they looking for to raffle, Rick? Anything in particular?

From Gary Seiler
"Mark is strong. He has his moments both in private and around his loved ones but is resolved to get his boys back on their feet and healthy again. We talked long, we prayed, we cried, walked the beach next to his home, and even found time to have a cold one with Mike Hathaway as we swam in San Carlos Bay. He's making plans for the future and will be sharing those soon. The boys each have things they are dealing with. My buddy Marcos (he loves my pathetic magic tricks) has a 1/2 body cast with his legs spread. Only his feet are free from casting and they hurt him. Massaging his feet is something that really helps. Luis had his best night yet the first night I was there. He smiled laughed and giggled as we all played ball together with he and Marcos and their little cousin Stephanine. Though their hearts ache missing their Mom at different moments throughout the day and night I see both boys are strong just like there Daddy is in this difficult time, especially Marcos. What a little champ. Mark has two angels by his side day and night. Chrisantha (Adela's sister is there 24 hours a day to help with all chores especially with Luis. Mike Hathaway (Mark's nephew from Tucson) had been there for several weeks before the accident working on a mission to help build houses in the poorest section of Guaymas, Mexico. When the accident happened Mike moved his diligent services to Mark's home and is there to do all the chores that anyone asks of him. These two people would bring tears to your eyes if you just saw the honest love and energy they bring to Mark's family. Both of these two people are real life miracle workers. God has blessed Mark and the boys with these two and two loving families. Mark's brother John showed up Wednesday night, his 2nd trip in 5 days down from Phoenix. He's another great Mulligan!!! There are many other family members helping out daily. I only met a few... say 25 or so, that's how many people are there for them locally... they are all trying to help everyone get through this. Mark and I had to go and get the legal release on the Adela's car on Wednesday and we saw both vehicles involved. The one thing I came away with after seeing both cars is this; these two boys survived and it's honestly a miracle. Mark will share the facts of all of this as he sees fit in the weeks to come, but as I stood there looking at Adela's car with us both unable to talk, I prayed and thanked the Lord for sparing the boys. The other driver was at fault and he also died.
Moving on to something a lot more enjoyable.
I want to share this and it's a secret so you can't tell Mark I said this!!! I heard the rough tracks on his new CD that he was working on at the time of the accident and it's way awesome. Pure Mulligan at his happiest and best. You will love this CD when it comes out. It may even be your favorite of all of his CDs. He told me he will share the release details soon.
Mark said, "he has felt so much love from all of this he is just overwhelmed." He hasn't read the stack of cards and emails yet because he wants to do it when he can focus on who and what is being said and he simply has had zero time since all of this happened. He'll be getting back to you in the next few weeks I promise, and I also believe you will see him back up on the stage soon. He said he wants to get back up there as soon as possible. I hope I'm there at his first show...
In closing I want to thank you all. So many of you sent emails to me concerned about me, knowing Mark is a brother to me. I felt so much love over these past two weeks it kept me focused and resolved to go to him, listen, and pray for all of his strength. You all helped me get through this with your wishes hopes and prayers. I'm so proud to have Mark for my friend & brother and I'm so blessed to have you all in my life. Through the tears there is a smile. A big appreciative smile. God bless."
