Just saw John Fogerty with Willie Nelson as an opening act.
Must say, it was one of the most AWESOME concerts i have ever seen.
John Fogerty "rocks". Never have seen a performer with so much energy!
Willie was fantastic too!
I urge anyone to go see this show. They have some east coast gigs coming up soon.

I saw Forgerty live last year (at Red Rocks, thank you) with John Mellencamp. I'll admit I didn't go to see Forgerty, but you're right, he was really good. They sung a few together too. It was a really good show.
Well, except for when Mellencamp had a film crew from VH-1 there and he sung one of his newer songs. No one in the front of the crowd knew the words. I would have run down there, but I didn't want to hurt myself.

Excellent! Going to see these guys this Saturday in Raleigh.
Last year, we saw John with John Mellencamp, and Willie with Bob Dylan. Thinking that Willie and family players will be just a little bit more "family oriented" than Jimmy Buffett. And John Fogerty, he's gonna pull out all the stops! Should be a good show!
The new concert DVD by Fogerty is definitely worth checking out: (Just released in June)

Going to see them next Friday at Great Woods. Looking forward to it. I too saw Fogerty last year with Mellencamp and I think he really did steal the show despite opening for Mellencamp. I've never seen Willie before but I would definately like to see him before he retires....isn't he 71 or 72 now??

Cool!

Willie is 73.He has a couple of his young sons playing guitar and drums. They looked about 16 and 18. The one on guitar sang Texas Flood, a Stevie Ray Vaughn tune................the kid was awesome!
After John came out and played about 4 songs, Willie joined him for Jambalya. Cherish the moment, it will prob never happen again.
The concert started at 7:30 and ended at 11pm.
I had 4th row seats and the ticket prices were great! I paid $140 for both tickets! Glad there are STILL some artists out there who aren't in for it just for the $$$$.
Have a great time! I know you will!

I also saw John Fogerty last year with Mellencamp. I admit that I went to only see Mellencamp, but Fogerty was one of the best rocking shows I have ever seen. Basically every song was a hit and each song was harder and louder than the last. What a great show and I am going to see him next week at Holmdel NJ with th wife and kids. I was able to score advanced tickets from his website and as someone stated it is great to see an artist who is not in it for the money. I paid like $54 a ticket and got seats in section 104. Thanks John!

Saw Fogarty with Mellencamp last year as well. Fogarty blew me away, absolutely incredible performance.
Second best show of the year, edged out only slightly by Tom Petty.
Alot of these new acts could learn alot from the veterans.

I've never seen Willie but I've seen Fogerty 4 or 5 times, including once before CCR broke up. The guy's a genius.

When I saw him last year I think I was even more impressed by how much energy the guy had. He was flying around the stage like it was his first time on tour. You've got to appreciate his enthusiasm almost as much as his musical ability. Can't wait for next Friday!

And I think he's got more hit's than anoyone other than the Beatles. Thats an accomplishmnet in it's own. But I could stand corrected.

On Saturday in Raleigh, we did have a great time!
crawfish, you summed it up pretty well. We thought the the kids were maybe 16 - 22, but the son doing Texas Flood was awesome too. We had 15th row, but with binocs, it looked like he was giving the smiles to all the young ladies.
Willie did join John for Jambalya, and I think it was the 4th tune. Concert started at 7:20 for us. We were still tailgaiting in the parking lot, and we're like, what the hell? That sounds like Wille! So we hustled on in.
John Fogerty rocked! Amazing! Set list very similar to the above mentioned DVD. Highly recommend. If you haven't "heard it or done it before", definitely worth checking out.
Show ended promptly at 10:58 pm - John made the curfew.

Yes, my tickets said 7:30. Didn't think they would start early. Late maybe, but early?
