Rick, have you been drinking?
LOL no dude, It's all about the SEC at this point. I mean since Tennessee made it into a bowl, and one that's better than GA I might add. It's all about SEC strength at this point.
Hell, I am even pulling for Florida.
I can't, but I can't really get behind the OSU as Champs idea either. Too many experiences with the Buckeye version of "yellow album fans". Think I'll just take a pass on the game and hope that 6 weeks off dulled the edge.

Orange Wake/Lvillle
BCS OSU/FL
My reservations were made right after the Nevada game.
Who else is heading to a bowl game?

Sorry, but most conferences around the country care about the SEC. IT is, all around the best football conference in the country. 9 teams out of 12 are going to a bowl game this year!!!
That example doesn't mean as much as it used to. Over half the teams in D1 go to bowl games. And don't forget, teams that are .500 can go to bowl games now.

This year they made it even easier. A D1 team can count 2 victories over D2 teams towards there win total.

OK. A lot more teams go to bowls than used to. But that bar was lowered for "everyone", not just the SEC. The SEC has the most...bottom line. Whatever that means to everyone, I don't know. But it's the truth.

Went to the Liberty Bowl 2 years ago. Great place. Have fun. I will be heading to Glendale!!!

I'm not sure yet if I'm going to the Gator Bowl. If I do, it'll be my 4th in 10 years. Jacksonville is quite fun.
IN the past 10 years I've also been to the Insight. com, Carquest, Music City & Continental Tire Bowls. hmmm Ya I should keep my streak going...

I will however be missing only my second local bowl game.
Melli, any inside info on Rich Rod? Trust me, I know how it feels to have your coaches names always in the running for other jobs. Last year our coach and most of the staff left for a wonderful 2-10 season at Criminal U - Boulder Campus. And already this year our coach (Who has gone undefeated and is taking BSU to their first BCS Bowl game) is being mentioned for every open position in the country. ) It sucks, but as I like to say "It is better to have your coaches sought after than have nobody want them because they s***"

No to be honest, they are hardly reporting on it here. Alabama reporters have made compled A**** out of themselves. WV reporters are waiting on facts.
Well coach Rod is definitely schedule to attend the WVU-NC State game in the state capital tonight...Charleston. I'm sure he's going to be pelted with questions and I'm curious to see how he'll handle that....

His mouth is moving.

well Rich hasn't talked hardly at all.
I HONESTLY think he's using this to sweeten his position here at WVU. He's been wanting a new facilities and raises for his coaches..and he got some of that this past June, but WVU isn't moving quick enough for him on the facilities end.
It just doesn't make sense how he would call the Statewide Sports radio show which is hosted by Toni Caridi -who is a very reputable announcer for our team - and say several times 'i plan to be at West virginia for the rest of my career - if they'll have me"
why would he say that on Friday and then decide to leave.

Alabama is a great school with a ton of devoted fans. One of the best traditions in all of football. That is a great reason to want to coach the Crimson Tide. The problem with that is the fact that if a coach doesn't totally turn the team around his job is in jeopardy within the first couple of years. Shula was a good coach. They are looking for the next Bear Bryant and they're probably never gonna find it.

They forced Gene Stallings into an early retirement. I wonder how many Bama fans would still like to have him there.

All true statements.
I don't think they're going to find that in Rich Rod.
Well the one thing he has at West Virginia is job security.
