Gotta love karma.

I'm a Mountaineer through and through..no matter what. Obviously...it's painful.
WVU fans take it personally. Unlike other colleges around the country, who have multiple schools in there state, this IS the STATE university. Fans are already upset with Rod. Maybe it is best for him to just get the #### out. *sigh*

I think Rich's dream job is FSU, to be honest. Wouldn't that be interesting if he took the 'Bama job and then Bowden retired after this year. hahaRinglingRingling wrote:see above for the remark about coaches and athletes..MelliJellyBean wrote:HELL NOOOOO lolCapt.Flock wrote:Does that mean that you will become Ohio State Fan ( just teasing Mel )MelliJellyBean wrote:I still have hope. Honestly...what has happened to the likes of coaches like Paterno, Bowden, Nehlen? who are loyal to their schools and will stay for YEARS??? Never realized how lucky we had it with Nehlen. He would've never though ONCE about leaving.

just remember tho.. prior to last year, most people would have written Paterno off as dead and too dumb to know it; and this year isn't exactly going down in the Bowden family archives as a year to remember...MelliJellyBean wrote:I think Rich's dream job is FSU, to be honest. There was less emphasis on the money side, for everyone. Universities were not branding their teams on everything from jerseys to toilet-paper, TV contracts were nowhere near as lucrative, and coaches were seen as instructors as much as coaches rather than the way they are now. Granted, you could get fired, but performance (and the way it affects the cashflow) wasn't so short-term?MelliJellyBean wrote:true, they need to retire....like Nehlen did!RinglingRingling wrote:just remember tho.. prior to last year, most people would have written Paterno off as dead and too dumb to know it; and this year isn't exactly going down in the Bowden family archives as a year to remember...MelliJellyBean wrote:I think Rich's dream job is FSU, to be honest. Well put. As soon as coaches started making big time salaries, school, fans, boosters, etc. want big time results quickly.RinglingRingling wrote:There was less emphasis on the money side, for everyone. However, West Virginia tailback Steve Slaton, who is in Orlando to attend Thursday night's Home Depot College Football Awards Show at Walt Disney World Resort, told ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach that Rodriguez told his team he's not going anywhere.
Slaton said his coach told the team Friday night that he planned on staying at his alma mater, instead of accepting the Alabama or Miami jobs.
"From what he said to us, he said he was happy there and wanted to stay for a while," said Slaton

Here's a taste of what we're dealing with here:

Probably the most truthful story you'll find out there right now. ESPN has made SEVERAL big mistakes so far.
