When are they gonna get it? Discipline problems are tearing down our program and are gonna cost Phil his job sooner than later. God, I hope this isn't a sign of what's to come this season.
Oh, check out my new banner for this Fall!
You're not kidding...
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- A Tennessee freshman charged with drunken driving on campus was dismissed from the football team Wednesday, and another player arrested Sunday was suspended, coach Phillip Fulmer announced.
Lee Smith, a tight end, was arrested early Wednesday morning after a campus police officer saw him driving on the sidewalk. Smith had been attending summer school before beginning his first year on the team. Smith's father, Daryle Smith, was an offensive lineman at Tennessee and played in the NFL.
"I have made the decision that he be dismissed from the football team. I have great respect for the Smith family and for Daryle as a former Volunteer. It is my sincere hope that this will be an opportunity for Lee to mature and get his life in order," Fulmer said.
The Volunteers, coming off a disastrous 5-6 season, begin practice Friday.
Redshirt freshman Marsalous Johnson was arrested Sunday in Putnam County after an off-duty sheriff's deputy reported that Johnson waved what appeared to be a gun at him while driving along Interstate 40. A toy gun was found in the car and Johnson was charged with aggravated assault.
"Marsalous and Lee have embarrassed this great university and not presented themselves in a manner that appropriately represents our program. I have demanded accountability from our players and the team, and these two players have not followed instructions," Fulmer said in a statement.
Johnson will miss the first four games of the season. Fulmer is requiring him to move back into a dormitory on campus, leave his car at his home and complete 50 hours of community service. Johnson will be considered a member of the scout team.
"Any reinstatement of Marsalous depends on his attitude and demonstration of accountability," Fulmer said.
Thats a good pic. They can blame Adrian Peterson for being caught, as he was the one being investigated for use of a car provided by that very dealership. He was cleared of any wrongdoing but obviously they found something else.
I think y'all got a good hire in Prince and he'll get them turned around.
Just not this year.
Talk about people in glass houses. Anybody with a big red N who talks about a dirty program. You've got more criminals on your team then they have on the state prison team. And don't give me crap about your new coach being much better about that.

But on a side not, part of this is Phil's fault. I remember when he let Claussen and Kelly (The Future) Washington
completely rule the team. I remember Fulmer saying "until the others can play like those 2, they can continue to
say what they say." Those 2 probably more than any, divided that team, with the blessings of Fulmer.
It may be hard for him to bring down the hammer, or the players to think he is serious after the last few years....
He needs to bring in Pat Summit to shape up that team! And she could do it too!
Wow! I couldn't have said it any better myself. Yes, it started back in the days of the self-proclaimed Kelly "the Future" Washington and California cocky boy Casey "Ice Man" Clausen. Since the return of Cutcliffe, David has criticized Fulmer's laxed discipline right in front of him. And thank God, Fulmer is listening to him. David has also been all over the players for their weight and laziness. Looks for things to have changed some this Fall. I just hope its enough to keep Cutcliffe happy here and keep Fulmer's job.
Since you mentioned bringing in Pat, I'll tell you a little story. When Jerry Green was the Bball coach a few years ago, he was struggling with team discipline and respect so he went to Pat Summit for help. He asked her to come in and speak with the guys. When she walked into the meeting room, their were snack wrappers and drink cans all over the floor and the guys were sitting around in their scrubbies. As she began to talk, some of the guys were still talking and laughing out loud. She looked at Jerry angrily, who was doing nothing about it, and said she would never stand before the guys again and stormed out of the room. Thank God Bruce Pearl is now in town and believes in discipline!

Great story about Pat! Thanks. I love her and her style of coaching. The Lady Vols are so tough because they practice against the guys! I wish Andy Landers, (love him but ready for more than the elite 8 year in and year out), would bring the guys for our gals to play against.
You got a catch in Pearl. I don't think we will EVER turn our team around or be able to recruit after the Harrick mess.
OK, back to football...are you coming to UGA on Oct 7th?

Big 10 League commissioner Jim Delany told the Indianapolis Star that the league won't play on Thursday or Friday nights to make the new Big Ten Channel attractive to cable companies. The channel is expected to show about 35 league games per season after it debuts in August 2007.
Big Ten officials say it would be too much for some towns to host the huge number of people on weeknights. And messing with the traditional Saturday game wasn't appealing either.

2 things: Nowhere, anywhere did I talk anything about a "dirty program." I don't really know why you feel the reason to attack me for something I didn't do.

Looks like those guys are trying to right to the Raiders or Bengals

OUCH!!!!!!!!!

With four Miami players suspended, (2 of them being their kinda bigtime players as far as I know) maybe the Noles will have a better chance of winning down there.
However I wish that this were not the case.
If we win, my brother (big cane fan) will say "you beat us without our big players" and if we lose he'll say "we beat you without our big players"
Of course it may not affect the game much at all considering that some of the state's best talent is on both teams and it's such a big rivalry.
From what I've seen of Miami's Charlie Jones, he's a capaple RB filling in for Tyrone Moss. So in short, anything can happen.

And second, what he said.
Tell me what we did that EVERY OTHER program in college football doesn't do.
And I "attacked" you because you're from Nebraska and you think the N stands for knowlege. Or any of the other 50 Nebraska jokes I could think of.

I can honestly say that the Rapaloes are the only college football program in division 1 to have players rape one of their own teamates.
