He's not the only one out for this week at least....Dr.Corona wrote:Starting Texas cornerback Tarell Brown is suspended for this weeks game against Oh How I Hate Ohio State. He was picked up on a marijuana and illegal weapons charge. Don't really know all the details, I do know that the Longhorns are gonna need all the experienced cornerbacks they can find to keep Teddy Ginn and the OSU receivers under wraps.![]()
At least Coach Mack Brown is doing the right thing and not bowing to the pressure I'm sure he's getting from most everyone in the state of Texas!

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Texas starting cornerback Tarell Brown and backup linebacker and special teams player Tyrell Gatewood were suspended for Saturday's game against No. 1 Ohio State after their arrest on misdemeanor charges.
The loss of Brown, a senior and Texas' top cover corner, is a big blow to a defense counting on him to match up with the Buckeyes' top receiver, Ted Ginn Jr. Gatewood made one tackle on special teams in the No. 2 Longhorns' season opener against North Texas.
The players were arrested early Monday, along with former Longhorn linebacker Aaron Harris, when their car was pulled over by Travis County sheriff's deputies.
Brown was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon after he was found with a loaded 9 mm handgun on his lap, according to deputies. Brown, Gatewood and Harris all were charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
Texas coach Mack Brown would not say Tuesday if the suspensions were only for the Ohio State game.
"I'm just trying to get through Saturday," the coach said. "As a head coach, No. 1 you have to look at the legal system and cooperate with the authorities completely.
"No. 2, you must go through the university because that's who we work for. No. 3, you are concerned about distractions for your football team. ... No. 4, you care about the three young men involved and their families."

Stan Jefferson, Ohio State's director of player development, called in Tressel's ballot Tuesday morning. He said he changed the ballot and did not have time to tell Tressel

That was a good one, but not the best I saw this past weekend. The best I saw was the hit on the USC kick returner. Two Arkansas defenders hit him at the same time and put him about three feet up in the air. Then came the ultimate body slam. Talk about getting stood up! Best hit I've seen in a long time. Eat your heart out WWE!weirdo0521 wrote:My favorite shot from the weekend.
Don't forget the hit Ryan Karl put on Cal's starting TE at the opening kickoff of the UT game. He hit him so hard it gave him a concussion and he never played a down. I've read several articles that said that the hit really messed with Cal's "physicy". It really set the tone for the whole game and let the Cal players know that the Vols meant business and came ready to prove something to everybody.

This is actually getting USA Today/ESPN space? HA, HA, Ha, Ha.......Dezdmona wrote:....and/or he has someone willing to lie for him.live2ski wrote:Does it surprise anyone that Tressel lied?

Pa--thetic......
Do you really think Tressel gives a rats a$$ about the coaches poll right now? Why would he say something that he knew USA Today/ESPN would jump on if they knew his ballot didn't have Texas #1.
Do you know how many coaches really vote themselves? One of the assistants usually vote in most cases.
OSU haters should be more concerned with the game Saturday. They will have more to hate after that....

I wish there was some way to help him out without committing a violation....
