Tweeter Center, Mass. Tailgating Question

Post by elderflowerapplejuice »

Greetings fellow BN'ers, I was wonderin' I heard from my sister that you are not allowed into the parking lot without a ticket, is this true? I was hoping just to go up for the tailgating and sit in the parking lot and listen to the show on Sirius. Any info. is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Yes - that could be true. Sometimes they do check for tickets at the gate entrance. (not always though) - this started a few years ago because people just going to parking lot to party with no ticket to the show - and there was not enough parking for people with tickets

Yep...its true...they checked mine last year when I pulled in. Your best bet might be to park your car in one of the private lots outside the venue and just walk in.

They checked mine the last time I was there (in 2001).
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

They've checked mine every year I've been there, at least in recent memory.

If you don't have a ticket and are going to look for one at the show, you can always security at the entrance that you have band tickets or will call tickets at the window.

They don't question and let you in

If there are 4 of us in the car do they check for 4 tickets or will just the driver have to show 1 ticket?

Jens right. They are really starting to crack down on the whole "my tickets are at will call" Last year was the first time I noticed they were asking for receipts if you told them this.

My educated guess is you couldn't wave just one, but if you showed three you'd probably be OK.

Last year we had a 3 car caravan and all the tickets were with me in my car (thankfully I was the last of the three cars.) One person from each of the other cars had to come back to me to get tickets to show at the entrance!
Indecision may or may not be my problem....

three years ago, I had my Saturday tickets with me and someone else had my Thursday tickets. I tried to wave my Saturday tickets but they took them and READ them, and sent me back out. I had to hook up with the person who had the tickets before I could get my car in.

I guess to be fair, the people with tickets already paid for parking as part of the ticket price, so there damn well better be enough parking for them. There are a couple of pay lots out near the road; walking distance to the tailgate for those who don't have tickets.

I think it really comes down to who is checking your tickets. There were times we had 4 people in the car and showed 1 tix and that was fine. Other times they asked for all the tickets and looked to make sure they were the right date... as the years have gone on it appears they have become more strict. My suggestion if you have will call tickets print the receipt. I can tell you this the "my friends have my tickets and they are already inside" excuse will not work. They will make you turn around and your friends will have to come meet you outside the lot.

And thank God you weren't inside yet... Would have been a long walk from McDonald's to the lot to get the tickets and back again.... :o

Well the plan is to have 5 of us go early with 2 vehicles. We only have 3 tickets right now and plan on buying a pair in the parking lot before the concert. We have 2 others meeting us there later. Both of these people will have tickets.

So I might have to treat this like a "drive-in theater" and put a couple people in the trunk  :pirate: ? I guess committing a little mortal sin isn't going to hurt  .

or an easier way is to drop them off right before you pull in the lot and let them walk in. They don't check anything if you just walk in. They are not concerned with people partying in the lot without tickets they are concered with people parking in the lot without tickets.

They have always checked mine as far back as I can remember. But they don't really read them, just a quick look to make sure you have tickets. One time I had 4 printouts and they just looked at the pile of papers and said ok, another time I had real tickets and they didn't read them, just saw me pull them out and said go ahead.
