The first one that I got was Looking for A place To Happen.
Pretty much a great album from start to end.

more of my faves:
Some Nights You Never Go Home
Bar Stools and Beach Chairs
The Floating Opera

Try "Seafood Platter". It's a good collection of his songs to get you started. There's a nice mix of his upbeat and love songs.

I like "Freaky Tiki Faces" myself.

Have to agree that Seafood Platter is the best one to start with.

It is a greatest hits collection from many of his CDs.

Bocanuts, Looking for a Place to Happen, and Fishead Music are also good, but I would start with Seafood Platter

I know this is a live album, but I would suggest "Trolling for Mermaids." If the song "She sailed Away" doesn't make you a fan then nothing will.

It depends if you want studio or live stuff.

For studio I suggest anything but the last two he put out. I especially am fond of Bocanuts.

Trolling for Mermaids or Live at Octoberfish are both good for live shows.

I agree, The last two were not that great

My favorite live one is Live Bait from Fishstock 2000, but then I was there.

I hadn't heard that one, so I will take your word as I know how well you know Jim and his work.

I'm in the picture on the back of the Trolling For Mermaids jewel case. They got my best side, the back of my head.

Well, I started with Seafood Platter. Should be here by the end of the week along with Randy Wayne White's latest Doc Ford novel.

You'll probably end up getting them all anyway and could have made your own Seafood Platter.
You'll like it, Jim's one of the reasons that I started playing guitar.

You can't go wrong with any Jim Morris CD, the live ones are fantastic! I started with Bocanuts and have collected them all from there. And any time you can go see him live...go!
