I know they are really bad for you. Why dirnk ice tea and fill it with the same stuff that's in diet coke that's bad for you :-? :o I, I, I don't know.
The only thing better than diet coke is a diet coke with some rum and a lime. Yep, there's one sitting right here next to me calling out, "Drink me! Drink me!" Man they can be noisy, SHUT UP! I'll be right there

gotta go

No diet pops for us. :D

You' re right about Nutrasweet( Aspartame). Neurological problems. :o :o

Also, there have been studies done that show drinking "diet " soft drinks keep you from losing weight! :o There are better choices.

The thing I love are the people who order wings and fries and burgers and big steaks and wonderful desserts and they add ......."and bring me a diet coke with that!" :o :o

Go figure! :D

1st some people think regular drinks are too sweet tasting
and
2nd some of us are diabetic. And being a diabetic doesn't mean you can't have a Whopper combo at BK

Most diabetics can't have the Whopper from BK.

Better to have the Nutrasweet, and all the things that causes. Smart move.

If you are are losing weight , good for you, it isn't because you are drinking diet pops or not. Do the research about diet soft drinks inhibiting weight loss. Your experience is only anecdotal.

I know what you are talking about, but that does not affect everyone. Studies have shown that drinking diet cokes can make you more thirsty and sometimes make you snack more.

Wife my wife, I can see it because she never has an empty can. However, some people don't need that second can or food to wash the drink down. It also depends on how many "real" cokes you were drinking before. If you were throwing back a 12-pack of cokes a day and you switch to diets, yes you are going to lose weight.

I like Fresca....always have..

But there is a lot of research on the aspartame thing..

A friend of mine, a diabetic...had a Grand Mal seizure and it was directly attibuted to aspartame...

I used to drink a lot of them...not so much anymore....and I don't use Equal in my coffee....Splenda or Sweet N Low......

NONE, NEVER, NOPE, YUCK!!

I don't drink a lot of soda's... usually only with my rum. ;)

But diet sodas are just disgusting to my taste buds.
it's definately an acquired taste..about 2 weeks of choking it down and the regular kind will taste extremely sweet.

When the Doc tells you to limit your sugar intake now, to eliminate further problems on down the road....you do what you gotta do..

especially after giving up carbonated drinks completely because of the sugar, you find you can crave diet coke just like you did..regular
coke

anytime you make any move to eliminate some of the sugar from your daily intake of nutrition, it's a good thing...

nutrition wise...starch turns to sugar after it's consumed...

soo when I order a diet whatever with wings, or burgers and fries, it's not the diet part I'm really aiming at...

it's a soda with no sugar thing.. then I justify more rhum consumption....
