RM rejuvenated?

Seems like RM has found new life with the inclusion of more tracks from their live broadcasts. Starting to hear some different versions, maybe a few more rare cuts. Music to my ears, as I was starting to tire of the Fenway heavy rotation. Big thanks to the folks at RM

I miss all the regular programming, Beatle brunch, Road trips, Bubba Wartz, coral reefer hour, the deadhead hour, I even miss the sponsors. Sure we still have the happy hour and feats at 5. The music has always been good IMO, can't remember hearing a bootleg since Sirius. It is good but still well below the standard that was set before Sirius.

I agree I miss the other specialty shows.
Though I have to say the song list has expanded tremendously and now that Steve has air help the overall experience is much fresher on a regular basis.
If we can mix in a couple of the old shows OMG!!!!

I noticed that too. Lots more "unreleased" stuff. I like it.

Still waiting to hear PTYD15YOGH on RM since they made the switch.

I thought it was just me...
Seems that Sirius brings out another and another and another live cut from different shows. Even Buffett Buffet has a LOT of live stuff in it now.
Not complaining about what they're doing, just would like to have more of the "lesser known" tracks rather than live cuts of SYKBH.

Since the jump to Sirius I believe that RM has become less of a pirate radio station. I do miss the Down South Radio Hour, the Grateful Dead Hour (which is on XM Sun/Wed), Bubba Wartz, the CR Hour and the rare cuts and interviews that Steve would play.
I do agree that there have been improvements made recently but it has a ways to go to get back to where it was.

I emailed
Carson, Steve, Miles, and Kirsten, at the address provided on that page, about getting some of the old programs back. Bubba Whartz and the Down South Radio Music Hour were two of my absolute favorite programs. At any rate, I got a response from a costumer service representative from Sirius, not any of the four DJs. I was very disappointed. Steve used to email me back when I had questions and comments, I guess those were the good ole days. RM has definitely gone coporate and lost it's pirate radio appeal. I'd stop listening if I wasn't addicted. I've been listening for atleast 5 years every day, all day at work.

This is my biggest disappointment with the new RM. I don't care about the programs, just Jimmy. When they first announced they would be moving to Sirius, I asked Radio Margaritaville if they would continue to play unreleased music during the Buffett Buffets and Coral Reefer Hours and they said yes. They even briefly posted that answer as well as answers to a series of questions I asked on the Sirius site.
To my knowledge, they have yet to play an unreleased song in over 1 year. I track what they play on the Sirius search site at siriusbackstage.com when it's working and I listen alot. I have yet to hear Drunken 15 Year Old Girlfriend, Train To Dixie, Purple People Eater, My Lovely Lady (Demo), South American (Live with Brian & Jimmy), Viva Las Vegas (Live) or anything else unreleased. Rare songs? Yes, but not unreleased.
False advertising?

I think what Myles did by getting some of the great renditions of songs from the lives shows and editing them to a single track so they can play them on RM is great. I think Steve is really appreciative too, as he seems to play them a lot. I think this was a feature they should have done a while ago to add freshness to the rotation of JB songs. Now we don't have to hear songs from Fenway constantly. Great job Myles and RM!
