During tonights show, Jimmy made a comment that can calm us down for a while about him retiring. In his own words, "Its still fun, I am not going anywhere"!! They even mentioned it on RM after the show!!

THANK YOU JIMMY!!! :D :D

Todd, you read my mind...

...not that I want to be a pessimist about this one, though. I hope this time Jimmy's NOT bullshitting!

Not to mention that for a self-diagnosed addict to performing in front of large crowds, I'm sure it's VERY hard to walk away from the feeling he gets from playing for 25,000-40,000 Parrotheads at EVERY show. Knowing that many people love what you do is very gratifying, I'm sure.

And good news for the CRB: when Jimmy DOES hang up his wristbands and pastel-colored shorts, it's not like most bands that fade into the horizon because their talents are not in demand. Every single person in JB's band is going to have to beat offers down with a stick once people know they'll be more readily available for new projects.

Agreed... the man has made himself a product. But unlike the cheeseburger CD cases... he has feelings, emotions, and yes...even an ego. I cannot figure out why he would ever walk away completly. Now is when it should be fun. He can pick and choose.... wouldnt we all like to do that.

Its funny..... I read an article recently where Jane was quoted. The article was about relationships and they asked her what makes her 30 yr marriage work.... and I am paraphrasing...but she laughed and said... I am married to a Rock Star. I have no expectations.

IMO... you never stop being a rock star I wouldnt think.... so why not get paid for it.

It is nice to see someone acknowledge that he is having fun and not just the $$ part of it. Yes he is making money, but when you see him onstage or hear an interview you can tell he is really enjoying it and not just going through the motions.
I dont think he will retire for a while, but he will continue to scale back.
Of course I am wrong a lot, just ask my wife :o

Also in OPH he paused after the "fade away" line and enunciated very discinctly "NOT YET" :D

Thought it was great as everyone seems to read so much into whatever he sings in that song from show to show.
