THOSE are the most coveted parking spaces. I wish I had a 4 wheel vehicle to do that. Every year we say we are gonna park there. They didn't hassle you about parking there, did they?green1 wrote:We were in our car and out in 2 minutes.![]()
Literally. But then again we parked outside the fence line to avoid the parking lot nightmare. Drove the truck and backed it up over the curve and onto the hill. We got in our car and pulled right onto the road. I don't think I will ever park in the lot again.
No, not at all. In fact we pulled a U-turn and backed into that spot right in front of the cops directing traffic. We figured that if they told us to move we were no worse off, and if they didn't (which they didn't) we would be able to get out right away.Hockey Mon wrote:THOSE are the most coveted parking spaces. Cool. Put that on the list of things to remember for next year. So, if the entrance to the lot was on your left, where you near the first entrance or the second entrance? We ended up near C15. Getting out wasn't bad (relatively speaking) but the traffic on 66 was horrible. They were doing some construction that really tied up traffic. Anyone else hit that?green1 wrote:No, not at all. Yeah. That sucked.Hockey Mon wrote:Cool. Put that on the list of things to remember for next year. Coming up Wellington from the South, so the parking lot is on the left. We went in the first entrance with the big brick "Nissan Pavillion" wall/fence. We parked right in front of that. Right on the corner of the parking lot and Wellington. As far as the traffic, 29 E hits 66 E twice. Once at Nissan and again about 6 miles east of there. So if you want you can just stay on 29, bypass the first 66 on ramp and just get on at the next one. I know it is too late now, but there is always next year.Hockey Mon wrote:Cool. You were probably right in front of us. I printed out a phone list w/everyone's name/number at work and put it in my bag. When I got home, I went into a frenzy to get packed and out the door and I completely forgot the list. Oh well; like you said, there is alway next year.green1 wrote:Coming up Wellington from the South, so the parking lot is on the left. Yeah we got a late start so we didn't even reach the lot until 6:30 and then ahd to find the scattered remnants of our crew. By that time it was almost 7:30 so we headed in. Never called a single BN'r sorry everyone.Hockey Mon wrote:You were probably right in front of us. I printed out a phone list w/everyone's name/number at work and put it in my bag. Hmm..I don't remember seeing that one. Maybe we weren't as close I thought. I assume you found everyone from your group. I don't remember how we did this before cell phones. It would be "look for the orange ballon" or some landmark like that. One time we got lucky and parked on the row where cars were coming in and we actually saw our friends drive in.green1 wrote:Yeah we got a late start so we didn't even reach the lot until 6:30 and then ahd to find the scattered remnants of our crew. We were three cars away from the pickup truck with the two fins in the back. Were you close to that?
