BAT! ~ and ringing (not ringling) ears ~

Ever have a sound you're so used to that it doesn't bother you any more?

I have a mouse in the wall, ceiling or floor of my computer room (near the door to the deck outside), and I hear it so often that I don't even notice the shuffling, and have even come to anticipate it. Doesn't phase the dog either.

Could be a squirrel or bird, I don't know. It doesn't come inside and bother me, so I say, live and let live. What do you think?

Okay, Mom just opened the door behind me, and I jumped out of my skin. Maybe it does kinda freak me out, but only when I think about it.

~shiver~ I hope not!

It's quiet today.

We have three cats... They killed our gerbils.

Seems like they'd be able to catch this!

I just realized what it is in my wall...

it's not a mouse and it's not a bird...

it's a cross between the two...

I just heard bat squeaks! :o

Maybe, just maybe this will work....call down to the Commissioners office and have him turn on the signal. If you're lucky, your bat will get confused and will fly to the signal.
sorry...I couldn't resist.

Good luck with your bat, from what I've seen they're not the easiest to get rid of.

Mine ring. From having both eardrums busted on my 21st birthday. They say there's nothing to be done. Sometimes, I would just like to experience silence for 10 minutes. ~Sigh~

I like bats. Really, I do. :D Tons of them in Austin. Under the Congress Avenue bridge. :D

When I lived in DC, I got so used to Ambulence sirens that I had to do a double take when I didn't hear them.

I'll bite! What happened on your 21st birthday that busted both your eardrums??? :o

I liked bats before I lived in a bat-infested house. We thought we'd gotten rid of them three years ago, but it seems they are coming back. They've lived in this neighborhood longer than we have, so they are putting up a struggle. You should see the swarm at sundown...

Good site. Bats are protected here until after Aug. 15, when the babies are old enough to fly, according the Animal Control Dept., so it's time to starting doing something!

The one in my computer room doesn't bother me. We've got more upstairs in the wall that are more worrisome. :-?
