Rodney is my favorite Singer/Songwriter next to Jimmy. Another Buffett/Crowell connection - Will Kimbrough who wrote Piece of Work is part of Rodney's road band and often does a set of his own materia when he is out on the road with him. Check out Rodneys CD's The Houston Kid, The Outsider and Fate's Right hand. One of my favorite songs about New Orleans was written by Rodney - Jewel of the South.

Last Thu. I had the the pleasure of a free outdoor concert in SLC, UT.
It was Rodney Crowell, and Will Kimbrough did a mini solo set, and then played with Rodney. Needless to say, it was great! Outdoors on the grass,
plenty of cold beer, and Rodney Crowell.

A few years back I caught Rodney and Will at the Crighton Theater in Conroe ,Texas and it was one of the most memorable shows.

I always thnk of Rodney's Banks of the Old Bandera. Love the Hill Country!

Rodney's "Voila, An American Dream" is an excellent tropical song
and I also love his rockin' version of "Queen Of Hearts"

Do you remember what songs Will played in his opening set?

Actually, I did not know who he was, and went with some other Parrot Heads and we doing some talking, (they were explaining to me)
and I was just listening to the songs.
And..........there was lots of cold beer.
