I think I killed my paper shredder. It was only a mid-priced one, but we are somewhat fanatical about using one and if I have to go buy new, I could use suggestions. Do you have one with all the bells and whistles, and if so, is it better?
Help, please.

Ours bit the dust about a year ago and we haven't replaced it yet. I miss it.
Good luck on your search, Cate, and sail on, handy appliance.

My wife thought she killed hers as well. After about 10-30 minutes of cool-down the motor was back up and running. Let it take a breather before pulling the plug.

Why not use your garbage disposal in the sink? The wet paper will shred more easily than dry.
Or you could use your secret documents to help start the fireplace or the BBQ grill!!
I'm just tryin' to get by being quiet and shy,

I did this to my roomate's shredder. It got clogged with all sorts of paper. I took it apart and cleaned out the clog and let it cool for a few miutes. After that, it worked like new.

Until now...
Now you will do nothing but think of what CDs you may shred.
