Tarp question (tailgate)
Hi, does anyone know where you can get those tarps that you can set up in the parking lot (where the poles don't need to be driven into the ground). Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I use my offset 9 ft. patio umbrella. I might put part of the feet under a tire, or a sandbag. I usually have mine up and the grill started way before most of those canopy styled ones are out of the package.
Plus I like the ease of folding it up when I'm done. Again, done way before the canopy style.
Nothing against the canopies, they're nice and can certainly be larger. My umbrella cost less, also got it at Kroger.

A fee weks ago I was at Ocean State Job Lot in Foxboro 5 mins away from Great Woods and they have 10 and 12 foot. I paid $90 for the 12 foot a few years back, still same price.Caribbean Soul wrote:We got a fairly substantial one (sized 10' x 10') that folds easily at Ocean State Job Lot a few years back. If I remember correctly it cost just about twice that.

They sell them at a lot of the sporting good type stores also.
But Beware -- If you're on blacktop and it's not staked down, it may blow over the with slightest of wind. Happened to us at Jones Beach. We did have it up all day with no problem--tried to anchor it with coolers, etc. But within minutes before we were going to take it down, a slight wind blew it over and two legs bent beyond repair. Waiting to hear from the company about getting replacements. That being said, ours seemed to be the only one that went over.
It was great for the shade and I'm sure it will be great any rain that might come your way.
Good Luck!

They usually come with steaks to secure it down. Bring a hammer and nail it down to the hot top, it is easy if it's warm out.Jollymom21 wrote:They sell them at a lot of the sporting good type stores also.

Weights or sandbags also do the trick. Even pails filled with sand have worked for me (on the beach).
I got my $30 10x10 canopy at some drug store. (Walgreens?)
