Just in case there's an opportunity for SJ to add a "fan question" to the pre-show interview segment, what would you want her to ask? (None of this 20-question listing....

SJ Pre-Show Interview Questions...that bother us so....
Someone commented in another thread that Savannah Jane doesn't ask the "questions that bother us so" in the pre-show interviews with her dad...perhaps because her perspective doesn't allow her to understand what some of those questions might be...(but then again, it could be JB's not looking for intense questions during the busy time right before a show, too
).

I wouldnt think that most questions would be 'intense', tho the first one responding to your inquiry surely is.Quiet and Shy wrote:Someone commented in another thread that Savannah Jane doesn't ask the "questions that bother us so" in the pre-show interviews with her dad...perhaps because her perspective doesn't allow her to understand what some of those questions might be...(but then again, it could be JB's not looking for intense questions during the busy time right before a show, too).
How about asking what happened to the featuring of one album each concert? And is there going to be a fall tour besides LV? And when might it be announced? And when will the 2 fundraising concerts for Kinky be?
With thought, there are many, but just for starters.....

What $$$ amount would be too much for you to spend on something you love?
i want to know this because those of us who aren't millionares have limits on prices for things that we "have to have"
i just wonder what amount Jimmy would say "nevermind, i didnt know it was that much"

Posting this thread was a good idea, Q&S. If Ms Buffett is interested, she can read it and/or ask for questions herself....
...and there's no reason that
A) she or her father have to respond to any they dont wish to answer, or
B) that Mr Buffett has to answer them on the program
They can of course ignore any they wish, and if it is preferable, Ms Buffett could ask her father in advance about any suitable ones and give the answers herself without distracting him just before the shows.
It's the idea of giving a 'direct line' to information that would be an attractive occasional feature.....not a graven-in-stone burden, just including it when it seems appropriate. ....and considering how much Mr. Buffett enjoys teasing Parrotheads, this is a perfect opportunity...

I really like the way Savannah and Jimmy always talk about what he just did the day before or is going to do. I like when he talks about seeing his old friends in town and surfing and shopping.
It's those personal little things that Jimmy and SJ exchange that interest me the most.
It's kinda fun to know what he had backstage to eat and who came to visit him.
I think it was Carson who called him last week before the show and asked what he was doing.
It's kinda like ...Well, what happening "In The City!?!"
Or SJ asking him..."What did ya do last night? Who'd ya see?"

"Everybody thinks I don't like Jimmy Buffett. I love Jimmy Buffett. I love his music. What p*** me off was that this guy was living somewhere else. I'm living in Key West living on my sailboat and writing songs about the ocean, and they're comparing me, saying I'm trying to be like Jimmy Buffett. No. I'm just trying to be a guy who's living on a sailboat on the ocean and writing songs about what the f*#k I'm experiencing"

. .and I agree. . .perhaps she could just " pick and choose " a question . . acknowledge that it was BN'er so and so . . and let Jimmy answer. . ! !
. .I think it would make for an interesting couple of minutes . . ! ! . .and she could even review it with " Dad " before the show, so he wouldn't be taken aback . . ! !

I'd like to know if Jimmy will ever get back to writing stuff like he used to do or is he going to let the song by Brent Burns be true. "Living the life that Jimmy Buffett only writes about"
I would also like to know why he cut Atlanta out of two shows back to back a city that helped him during his years when a sell out concert was unheard of.

Glad you agree...hey, with your "in" with Mr Buffett, maybe you could use your good offices to recommend it???????balcony girls wrote: . .very good point, 1 CP . .! !

I've got a few questions that have bothered me so.
1) Jimmy didn't start playing guitar until he was in college. But I believe he took piano lessons as a kid. Did he keep up with that? Can he still play the piano? How well?
2) After he learned guitar and started playing in a band, it seems he started writing songs. How did he get so many songs written so quickly? Or said another way, how long did it take him to write enough songs where they could fill a whole concert? And what did he play for fillers (covers) until he did have enough of his own songs?
3) Before he started writing songs, did he ever write poetry? I can't see how he could hold all that inside him until he learned to play guitar. Did he write any songs before he learned guitar?
4) How about prose - any short stories, etc. that have not been published?
5) Some time ago, Jimmy donated his papers to a library in Florida. What is among them? Are they available for public view?
6)The questions they ask on "Actors' Studio":
......What noise do you love?
......What noise do you hate?
......What's your favorite curse word?
......What other profession would you like to attempt?
......What other profession would you not want to do?
......What turns you on?
......What turns you off?
......If Heaven exists, what do you expect God to say when you get there?
7) Food:
......Do you like to cook and do you cook (besides pancakes)?
......What's your favorite food, or what would be your perfect meal (soup to nuts) (hey, that might be a great title for a song
)
......You've said what a great cook Jane is. What's your favorite thing that you like her to cook for you?
