I understand that there is a lot of autonomy in my job. My division is a tiny part of a large company. And the 8 of us are scattered from coast to coast. While I share an office space with other divisions... MY boss is in Cincinatti. So I understand a little bit.... but for heaven's sake... if you want to have a conversation...call me.

Thanks for allowing me to get that off my chest......

Is your work email out of control??????
Sigh, as we advance in technology, we don't educate people how to use it. Email isn't meant for that kind of immediate conversation. If someone wants that, they should pick up the phone or use im. Does she send you emails where the subject line should really be the body of the email? That's my all time pet peeve.
What bothers me the most is when people treat email like it's a casual conversation. If you're going to send a work-related email it shouldn't be any different than in the days before email when you put words on paper and sent someone a memo. Proofread it and don't use IM lingo.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

I went to a management course on how to manage people a few months back and one of the messages they kept telling was

"Email is about information, not communication"

So when one of my staff would email me a question, I would hop up, walk the 10 paces or so to their desk and answer in person
