Great Woods lawn question for the experts

So excited!

Just got my tickets yesterday for 8/12 (talk about sweating it out!) - 2nd Jimmy show ever but first time on the lawn at Great Woods.

What time should we make our way into the show to get a relatively good spot on the lawn? We don't want to give up too much parking lot time :D .

Can we bring in lawn chairs? What about a backpack with a blanket? Sorry about the stupid questions but if someone has patience for a newbie...I'd really appreciate it!

Yesterday afternoon they passed out papers in the parking lot about heightened security and checks at the gate with a suggested gate arrival time of 7:00. We breezed right in at 7:30 with no wait or much of a search.

No chairs allowed on the lawn. Blankets, yes - but not sure if you can put it in a backpack.

Have fun.

There really are no "good" spots on the lawn at Great Woods, it's so small and so far away from the action, it doeesn't really matter.

I wouldn't bother bringing a chair or a blanket, it will get trampled in the masses once the show starts.

Have fun!

No chairs and while they are allowed, I wouldn't bother brining a blanket either. If you sit on it you won't see anything and it will be so crowded that people really can't "honor" your space and end up standing on your blanket.

With the addition of the uncovered pavillion seats, which as you know took up 1/2 the lawn, unless you have binoculars for eyes you won't see too much detail on stage and will be watching the show on one of the jumbotron TV's. Because of this it doesn't really matter where on the lawn you are and I personally wouldn't sacrafice good parking lot time to get in early.
