OK, here is what we know for sure at this point:

The book's journey is nearly complete-it is currently in the hands of the individual that will put it in Jimmy's hands for us.

We had hopes of Jimmy having the book in Aspen, but Mother Nature got in the way.

And, out of respect for all who have helped in this journey, we want the various co-conspirators (is that the right word?) to enjoy the holidays with their families.

So.........be patient, the book is definitely getting to Jimmy, and we expect to know when that happens, and will pass that along to all of you!

At the Aspen show, Jimmy said something about heading to warmer climates on Dec 26, so it may be a few more days before whomever has the book has a chance to deliver it.....

I agree with Jen - just got an email from the person who has it and he is sending it to him this week.... just a couple of days away. This just extends his birthday a little bit which in my opinion is a good thing!

A big thank you to the BNers and the "others" who started this, collected the greetings, put it all together, kept us up to date, are delivering it - all those who did so much work to make sure Jimmy gets our birthday greetings and knows how much we love him.

Thank you!!!!

If he's kept up with the postings he's seen some examples but I think he'll be bowled over when he sees the completed project. Did we ever find out if the James W Buffet who posts here sparingly is really him as his signature says. Hope we'll know it's him when he posts. I know he will because he seems to be the kind of man who appreciates his phlockers.

Buffett signed my parrot! woohoo

Post by Redleg Parrothead »

I wasn't sure where to put this posting so here it is. By a minor miracle I was in Margaritaville Las Vegas on 21 OCT when Jimmy came into the store. This was the 3rd time we'd seen JB in Vegas and everytime I brought a marker to the store with my stuffed parrot hat and told my wife that I'm going to get him to sign it. She used to just laugh and say it would never happen. I always said that if I ever met Jimmy I'd tell him "dis and dat" but I was so shocked that I was meeting him that nothing came to mind that I wanted to say lol. But it was great to meet him and he was very nice and down to earth; unlike most celebrities these days. If I can figure out how I'll post the picture of my autographed parrot. (Now I have to buy a new one...I'm afraid to wear this one to the concerts anymore!) Happy BDay Jimmy

You know he had me fooled because so few posts were made. Oh well I'm naive

Do we know if he's ever really posted here?
