Buffett for President Hat

Post by parrothead338 »

As I was meandering about the Greatwoods parking lot last week I saw a man wearing one of the coolest pieces of attire I had ever seen... a Jimmy Buffett for President hat. I personally had never seen one before and loved it. I asked him where he got it and he proceeded to tell me all about how he got it at the MOTM in 2004. So I'm guessing alot of people on here who went to the MOTM have the hat and know which one I am talking about.

Well, long story even longer I made it my mission to get a bunch of these hats so I looked around the internet and found a site (or charity) called Parrot Heads in Paradise that sold the hats. This site promotes Parrothead Clubs and the humanitarians efforts all of them do.

Essentially, the reason I am posting is two-fold. 1) I want to buy the hat which requires giving a credit card and wanted to make sure from anyone on here who might know if the site (phip.com) is legitimate (sorry for being cynical but I've had bad things happen with credit cards online so I always triple check a site before buying something). 2) If the site and organization is legitimate I was seeing if anyone is involved with it (or something similar) because I'm going to be a senior in college this year and part of my requirements this year will be charitable work and getting involved with something like this for this year and in the future would be perfect.

So if anyone has advice for a young parrothead looking for a hat and/or a way to get involved with some type of charitable parrothead organization I would really appretiate it... p.s. My apologies for such a long rambling tangent...

PHIP is the "real deal"... ophicial parrothead clubs worldwide.

Many here are members, but not me.

Good luck, and have fun!

Mike,
Check out PHCOEM. The Parrot Head Club Of Eastern Mass has meeting the first Thursday of the month at different locations , being from the People's Republic Cheers in Fanuil Hall would be the closest. We do a lot of work for Special Olympics.

i am the proud owner of a Jimmy Buffett For President t-shirt that has a top 10 list on the back. It dates itself back to the '96 presidential election. anyone else pick this up back in the day on the news-groups? i love it and where it only to the shows... it gets some good looks.
