I would have loved to see it! I'm not a huge baseball fan, but no matter where I go, Chicago will always be home so I love everything about it (even driving down the Dan Ryan near 63rd Street... with the doors locked, of course... and the windows rolled up)Tully's Twin wrote:You missed a neat place that ballpark had alot of charm, I never got there but a man who I met later in life played there for the Pale Hose

Wrigley Field is nice-as is the Wrigleyville area, but lately anymore it's run amok with a bunch of frat-brats who are sh*tfaced beyond any civility by the second inning.![]()
Next place on my agenda is Yankee Stadium. I've wanted to see it all my life, and I only have two years left to see it, so I'm going to make it happen in 2007.
Red Trolley might be something to try. I'll leave the fish tacos for someone else.TheSecretsInTheCrust wrote:Maybe fish tacos and Red Trolley beerRinglingRingling wrote:as long as they aren't serving tofu kibble in the outfield restaurant..TheSecretsInTheCrust wrote:Call me when you get thereRinglingRingling wrote:it's on the list of things to do.TheSecretsInTheCrust wrote:What no Petco Park???
Try running up State St. from about 55th to Roosevelt at 10p because Lakeshore Drive is blocked to northbound traffic..prrthd1987 wrote:I would have loved to see it! The Nationals new park is actually going to be in DC. When you come out for a game, there are 3 minor league parks within ~1 hour of that. There are the Frederick Keys and Potomac Nationals (A) and the Bowie Baysocks (AA I think). The Keys and Baysocks stadiums are nice and the Nationals is so-so. And heck, you've got Camden Yards up the road. You could make a whole weekend out it.Tully's Twin wrote:never made it to Tiger Stadium or a couple others but I cant wait to hit the new park for the Nationals in VA
maybe Wyoming.. Not Montana.Wino you know wrote:The American Legion World Series starts tomorrow RIGHT HERE in good ol' Cedar Rapids at Veteran's Memorial Stadium.
They'll play from tomorrow through next Wednesday.
I took some vacation days and will be at each and every one of those games.
Every dollar raised during these games will be going to various veteran's organizations AND to organizations helping the survivors of those killed in the war on terrorism.
OH-did I mention I'm the master of ceremonies for this event?![]()
Did I ALSO mention I have butterflies in my stomach and lumps in my throat the size of Montana?
