LOVE IT !!

No more neck cramps !!
This is why I bought my pillow...I'm still adjusting, but it so far so good.
I absolutely love my water pillow I got from the Chiropractor...no matter which way you lay your head? It adjusts...I've had it for over 10 yrs..and you change the water every year.....Great buy for $50..

I had one of the mattresses you're talking about ....I didn't last 2 and 1/2 yrs....I just didn't like the way it felt.....I had it just a little over a year...and had to just throw it away as who wants a mattress shaped the way someone else sleeps??

You'll either love it , or hate it....I don't hear any in betweens when I was asking around...

If you tend to sleep one way and not move around much...(Like me) the marks stay like that ..and if you do move around? Later? It can be very uncomfortable....as it is already "marked" the way you usually sleep...

Just me....I didn't like mine...

When asking around , before buying one? I got as many positive as I did negative answers....but the positive ones seemed to be sooooooo excited about it, I went with it......

Good luck...

Whatever you do, don't go for a "California King" size as it's a b*tch and a half to find sheets the right size.

(Why do I keep hearing "Come on baby light my fire..." playing over and over in my head?)
too funny :D

Living in California those sheets are everywhere. We bought a standard king and finding sheets is an adventure.

Ok, scratch the memory foam mattresses, anybody have one of those Sleep Number deals? Or as the people in the commercial call it, the "Sleepumber". They don't enunciate and it drives me COMPLETELY UP THE WALL. but I'm much better now. 8)

The foam will break down over time, but we've had ours 3 years and I can't see any permanent indentations in it or areas that look like they're saggy. It takes some people a few nights to get used to because it is so firm. It kinda depends on what kind of bed you like...my daughter hates the foam mattress because she likes a squishy bed.

PM me if you'd like more info!

We bought a king size Temperpedic 2 years ago and still love it.

My husband is fairly good sized (250 lbs) and there aren't any indentation problems on his side.

We bought ours for pretty cheap on Ebay and still got the 20 year warranty. So if we did have indentation issues, I'm pretty sure it'd be covered.

Before we bought, we spent the night at a local hotel that uses Temerpedics in all their business class rooms to see what we thought.

We have a mattress pad made out of that material, so far so good. I just didn't trust the whole mattress idea so we got a really good mattress and then a really good memory foam mattress pad.

We found a Serta 4 inch memory foam topper on overstock.com about a month ago (they still have 2 and 3 inch ones from Serta and another 4 inch one- it might be worth the $150 to try it out with your current bed)- we're not so sure about it. It's worth the $150-200 or whatever it was, but if I spent a grand on it, I would be pi$$ed. It does retain some heat, but it's not that bad. The bigger issue for us is that Tom outweighs me by enough that I always end up rolled against him, he gets hot, moves, I slide into the depression, the cat snuggles in, and this repeats until he's falling off the bed, or we're on opposite sides of the bed with a foot and a half between us.

WE LOVE OUR BED!!!!! we have a tempurpedic superior/celebrity queen. it's the cushy-ist one they make. it is about 1 1/2 yrs old. we purchased the pillows so many years ago.
after having a sterns and foster for 16 years it was time for a new mattress...(ya thnk???) i have fibromyalgia  and david has lower back problems ( not to mention that he is a "flopper") i have had problems sleeping in other beds so it was this or the air kind. we were pretty set on the tempurpedic one though. like others have said, you either like that feel or you don't. our bed doesn't have any marks/ divets left in it. it does spring back or adjust to your body pretty quickly. i was worried that in the summer it would be too hot because of the foam and i get night sweats ( don't ask. ). so far no problem. with regards to the flopper and all his flopping... on the old mattress or any conventional one... it would wake me up. not now, sleeping well. we can't say enough about it.
they are expensive. however we hit a store that had a HUGE sale. got the set for $1000. i'd pay the full boat knowing now what i do know. sleep is key  :)

we have a foam topper that we put on the bed at my in-laws. it's not the same feel. it's better than a regular mattress though.

Actualy, I have a good reason for the BTT. We're closer to getting a new bed.

What'd you decide, Frankie?

Any other suggestions?

We haven't tried any beds in person but priced some online. I'm askeered of dropping a ton of money on a bed that I end up hating.

We've pretty much ruled out the sleep number (SelectComfort) beds, but I'm likin' the idea of some memory foam and am leaning toward trying the "topper."

Is all memory foam created equal?

We bought a new bed with the memory foam top attached and I do not like it much. It's warm, and soft-ish --on a firm base, although it may not be as firm as we expected. But the depression my large husband leaves is depressing. In other circumstances, I would get a really firm regular bed and a replacable, turnable top to soften it.
But making a bed change is very difficult for us, as our bedroom is in the attic (third floor) with stairs too narrow to get anything bigger than a double mattress (no boxes) up them. We have to take the window apart and hoist beds in or out. Not something you want to do every year!

My aunt asked for a yoga ball for Christmas- I really hope it was just for crunches!

But on the bed thing- no, they come in a lot of different "weights". I'm not sure which way the poundage goes, or if it's an indication of quality or firmness.

One of my coworkers has an older Tempurpedic, and she hates it because it's too firm, but the topper we have is cloudlike.

And it took a few weeks to get used to, but I love that thing now!

We have had one for about 6 weeks. We love it and little movement when your partner moves and no noise when you both move  .
It was pricey but it is a king. So far two thumbs up.
