My crime was attempting to leave Wrigley Field. The beer at the Cubby Bear was 90 cents. The osipher knew I was drunk, but I walked the line- OK, so the b@stard said "Throw your change in the dirt and pick it up" I couldn't get all them damb dimes.
I called every human being I knew (Friday night) and nobody was home. About 1:00 AM, as the place began to fill up they placed a very large man of color in my cell. Who immediately started screaming "I'm gonna hang my mutha f*#king self if I don't get outta here" And with that the little suburban white boy called his Mommy

This is a fascinating thread. In my work in college admissions,
the first thing I ask someone is "What's your story?".
You all have great stories and experiences--thanks for sharing!
Here are some things that come to mind:
-Been to Key West(my home away from home) once or twice
a year for the past 15 years. Many memories...Many stories...
-Seen Jimmy Buffett 70 times(so far)
-Got Parrothead tattoos at Goldies in Key West.
-Developed a passion for surfing in the past year
-Guest conga player for a local ME Buffett cover band
-Taught myself to play Buffett songs on an accoustic guitar.
-Helped coach the US Women's National Ice Hockey Team
to a Silver Medal at a World Championship.
-Coached a boys all-star hockey team to a national championship.
-Helped coach a college hockey team to a national championship.
-Took a bobsled ride in Lake Placid
-Overcame the deaths of my parents and girlfriend in my late teens
and early 20s.(learned to appreciate the little things in life)
-Saw the Green Flash at Sunset off the coast of Naples, FL(very cool)
-Had my picture taken in front of the Green Monster scoreboard
during the Buffett Fenway Park shows.
-Took a high school hockey team to Finland and Sweden to play games.
-Experienced 1 season as a minor professional hockey coach.
-Saw whales, bears, moose and bald eagles in their natural habitat
from a friend's boat in Prince William Sound, Alaska.
-Scritched the nose of a manatee in the backyard of a friendly local
I met over conch fritters at Alabama Jacks in Key Largo.
-Heard the contented sighs of the rescued St. Bernards I've raised
after they overcame their abusive past and became my "kids".
-Experienced a Boston Bruins/Montreal Canadiens playoff game
in the old Boston Garden from right behind the Montreal bench.
(talk about atmosphere--the old building rocked--literally!)
-Got Jimmy's autograph at a Today Show concert.
-Had my fantasy JB concert experience in '96 when I was front row
for all 3 Great Woods Shows. I got two of JBs wristbands, set lists,
a Parrothead condom during WDWGDAS,shook his hand every night,
got to sing Son of a B******* on the big screen during Changes in Latitudes & Jimmy took my photo with a polaroid and gave it to me!
-Happily living by the Maine coast in my little, near beach, KW/Parrothead
style house. As Scott Kirby's song says "If you're lucky to live by the
sea, you're lucky enough by me."
-Made my best friendships and dated some wonderful women through
Buffett concerts and Parrothead events. It's the people that make being a
Parrothead so much fun!

Was baptized (sp) in the Jordon River
Cruised down the Amazon River in Brazil on my 21st birthday and saw the Southern Cross for the first time on that trip
Was hassled in Red Square because "my papers weren't in order" bribed the cop and later saw him with a hooker
Got locked in a building in a concentration camp in Poland
married the love of my life

I have a best friend. One I know would donate a kidney or raise my children, should something happen to me and James. We have been there for each other thru it all. The death of her Dad, the birth of my children, the loss of my second baby, moving, breakups, you name it. I know I am very lucky to have her and she totally rocks.
I have a handful of life long friends, spanning years and years. (I'm getting old!)
I have 2 smart, beautiful, kind children (who love their Mommy)
I have a man who loves me totally and unconditionally, even if he does make me crazy sometimes.
I was at MOTM 2004 and saw Jimmy too!
I have a job I love and that's exactly the one I need to be the Mommy I should be.
I have a great emotional support system (see above!)
I spent the first 28 years of my life at the coast. (working on getting back there!)
Saw many a thunderstorm roll in off the ocean.
Watched the sun set at Mallory Square many times (and loved them all)
