Kinky Friedman Fundraiser in Austin TX

The Statesman has an article "Waste away at the Paramount with Buffett"

Attention, parrotheads: Margaritaville's own Jimmy Buffett has been booked to play the Paramount Theatre at 8 p.m. Sept. 19. Proceeds will benefit musician-author Kinky Friedman's campaign for governor.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday August 26th at the Paramount box office, at www.gettix.net or at (866) 443-8349. Tickets will go for $300, $200 and $100 and are limited to four per customer. But will they be able to fill the aisles with sand?

It's not mentioned in The Statesman article, but GetTix.net lists "Orch Center 1st Four Rows" at $ 1036 each.

Hmmmm.....(counting pennies...)

You can buy the $1,000 tickets now through Kinky's campaign HQ if you are flush with concert cash. But you'll have to fight with the rest of us Saturday morning for the others.

I think I'll have to pass, but I did call the venue to ask about the seating capacity. They told me it's right around 1,300.

If it were a Saturday... sure. Not going to be able to pull off the coordination of Candy and I both getting time off, getting into and out of Austin, and then down to Tampa three days later. (and given the fact that y'all put up with me in Dallas, you really do need to meet the better half

)

Yea, I heard that on RM last night....tickets will be hard to get without ponying up the big bucks.

I'm just going to pray that I'm one of the fortunate few, because we certainly can't afford to make a large donation.

I just called RM and suggested they broadcast this concert. if we all call it might persuade them!
