Weather With You (by Tim and Neil Finn) was scheduled for possible inclusion on License to Chill. In the letter that he sent out to the musicians/artists that would appear on the album it was listed as "If we have time". The letter appeared in the LTC Interactive website.

Anyways, maybe it didn't quite fit with that album. Other songs listed that didn't make LTC:
Fools Paradise - (Mose Allison) JB and Nadirah

How Can I Miss You If You Won’t Go Away - (Dan Hicks) Dan Hicks never went away in my world. We will do this one justice. Backgrounds will be done in Nashville by the Reeferettes.

Like Cats and Dogs (Hugh Prestwood) - JB and Clint. This is another one I have hummed and sang since Russ Titelman gave me my first Hugh Prestwood demo. Hell I wanted to sign Hugh. This sounds like girls on the chorus to me.

So maybe one of these might pop up too.

Thanks for the listen.

Shakes head in dismay.
I understand why it didn't make the cut for License to Chill.
It's not a great song...I wonder why he's naming the album after it?

And I had a wonderful seat on the lawn that night and the weather was beautiful.

I'll bet Jimmy has been thinking a lot about the weather THIS tour. It sure has rained enough and been hotter than the hinges hanging on the gates of h*ll.

The finn brothers are great together. Weather with you is a good song, and I can see buffett covering it....Makes sense. Think about it the style of the song and the lyrics, its right up his alley (although i think technically it was a split enz song). I'm not one for him covering a bunch of songs, but if he has to do it....he could chose a lot worse
Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I had a good life all the way

I hope it IS on the new album. It's got a nostalgic psychedelic sound.

Thanks for the listen! Like 90% of JB's songs, I neither love or hate it after the first listen. Tough to tell after one listen. I'm sure it will grow on me like nearly every other song he's ever done.

Agreed...I think the song is ok to be on the album...
I'm just suprised he's NAMING the album after it.

I can understand why JB likes it.

If the new album is going to be called "Take the Weather with You", then why is the link coming up as "Paddlin Out"?

Hmmm....wonder if it's still not quite official then....

Miles just mentioned now on R'M'Ville that for a minute it was Paddlin' Out, then became Take the Weather With You.... :o

At least the release date is staying stable at 10/10 <for now> :D
