There's probably more that we haven't heard about yet.FarsideCobbPH wrote:Did anyone notice it only has seven song on it?
I was reading an article on Guy Clark in American Songwriter magazine (current issue - Sept/Oct). In it, he claims that a song he co-wrote with Chuck Mead, titled "Cinco de Mayo in Memphis," "has already been cut by Jimmy Buffett." ("'We're just waiting for it to come out,' he says.")
Is this the album it's gonna come out on? Who knows? For that matter, it's common practise for artists to record more songs than they eventually use on the album.
But if this song shows up on the album, you heard it here first.

Assuming for a minute that the recording is for this album, that would make eight that we know of:TropicalTroubador wrote:There's probably more that we haven't heard about yet.FarsideCobbPH wrote:Did anyone notice it only has seven song on it?

I was looking for something completely unrelated and came across this post in a newsgroup. It's about the 1993 show at Mountain View...Yes, there were songs from the new album, which he said would be recorded in October.
Title is "Quietly Making Noise". He played that song and one called "Everyone has a
cousin in Miami." Liked that one a lot. Great story about the genesis of it too.
that was my very first JB concert!

It's all in how you look at it. It sounds to me like Memphis is on his mind and he probably was thinking "Gosh, I gotta get back there soon..."capnrick wrote:HE HAS A SONG TITLE WITH MEMPHIS IN IT AGAIN?? AND HASNT PLAYERD HERE IN YEARS??????????????????

Hey, at least he's thinking of you fine folks - and the album release sorta implies another tour next year - so you might want to wait and burn that bridge when we come to it. Just a thought.

From cmt:
Jimmy Buffett's new country album, Take the Weather With You, will be released Oct. 10 on Mailboat Records/RCA Nashville. The title refers to his version of "Weather With You," a song written by Tim and Neil Finn and originally recorded by Crowded House in 1991. The album also includes his latest single, "Bama Breeze," a tribute to historic bars along the Gulf Coast. He also covers Merle Haggard's "Silver Wings" and Mary Gauthier's "Wheel Within a Wheel." Buffett said, "Without realizing it, I went to my roots on this record. It's not a stretch for me to do country music." Buffett's previous album, License to Chill, debuted at No. 1 on the pop and country charts in 2004 and included the No. 1 country duet with Alan Jackson, "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere."

welll,, er...o.k. then. I'll put my spleen back where it belongs
just been without a live concert since 2003. (Some of the memphis club members with too much free time did go to Indy or some d*m' place last month-told me there was an AGE limit or something and curmudgeonly old farts couldn't go without a chaperone).
oh well, will buy the new CD and wear my grass skirt and hawaiian shirt around the house listening and pretending. Unless the neighbors call the cops. again.
have to remember to either wear something under the skirt or close the mini blinds, this time around.
