Milwaukee Named 'America's 'Drunkest City'
AP
MILWAUKEE (Aug. 24) - Milwaukee has been ranked by Forbes.com as "America's Drunkest City" on a list of 35 major metropolitan areas ranked for their drinking habits.

Forbes said Tuesday it used numbers from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to rank cities in five areas: state laws, number of drinkers, number of heavy drinkers, number of binge drinkers and alcoholism.

Minneapolis-St. Paul was ranked second overall; followed by Columbus, Ohio; Boston; Austin, Texas; Chicago; Cleveland; Pittsburgh and then Philadelphia and Providence, R.I., in a tie for ninth.

oddly enough, I've drank in the #1, 2, and 3 cities, and #s 6-8. Should I collect them all and have the whole set? :D

I can claim #1 thru #8

If you haven't been to Austin, you really should go.

Where R2 goes, alcoholism grows. :o

So, do you figure the residents of these cities drink heavily all the time or only when you're around?

that, you would have to ask Capt. P. tho, I did get an offer from two cities today asking me to show up and push liquor tax revenues up on the off-weekends, see if they could break into the top 10.. :D

I love the way the MKE Visitors' Bureau tried to say, "there's other things to do here besides drink.. We have baseball, and an Arboreum, and a great Lakeshore park..."

Like you want to do any of those things when it's 12 below and the wind off the lake is cutting like a knife.. :D

Here's another vote for Chuy's!! :D And on that same street, love Shady Lane and Romeos! :D And don't forget the garlic cheese grits at the Armadillo downtown! Hmmmmm.....now I'm hungry, and I think I may need to plan yet another road trip!

I contributed to Austin, Chicago, Boston, and Providence. As far as Milwaukee, is Alpine close enough to count?
