looking for specs of steel drums in Coral Reefer Band

i am looking at buying a set of steel drums but im not quite sure what kind to buy.. im new in to this.. i have been a percussionist since i was 5 but i am instersted in steel drums..anyone know what kind they use in the CRB

I helped organize an Island Fest concert back in 1999 and still have the Rider that I think lists all the equipment needed for the show...let me see if I can find....I too have been thinking about buying a set - I also have a catalog at home and I remember how pricey they can be...I'll get back to you...

I know Robert uses pans made by Ellie Mannette, one of the great pan pioneers. He may use others also, but believe me, you can't go wrong buying a pan from Ellie. Check out www.mannettesteeldrums.com

I've been playing for about 3 years and it is great. They can be pricey, but shop around and do your research. Depending on how much range you want, your melody instruments can range from a single tenor, double tenors and double seconds. Quality of the pan can take you from $500-$5000.

I met a guy from Santa Cruz years back that told me He made
Roberts Pans.. Still don't know if it's true or not..
