Do You Dry Clean Your Clothes?

Just having a discussion here at work.. some do, some don't.
I'm a don't. First of all, I can't afford it, and one less stop to make on the way home from work.
I wash clothes that say "Dry Clean Only". And I've only ruined one sweater years ago.
I've taken very few items to the dry cleaners over the years, and that's cause they had some sort of delicate artwork or sparkles or sequins.
You?

does taking them there just to have the "press" them count?
I wear a lot of linen here and I get sooooooo sick of ironing , sometimes twice a day if I'm going out that night.....
I have a couple of things I will ONLY take to the cleaners.....but I am guilty of taking things so I don't have to iron....
a lot.

I wash and iron my shirts, been doing it for years, but I usually take pants to the dry cleaners, even if the label says they're machine washable (Dockers, khakis, things like that). I don't have to wear a suit to work anymore so that saved me many trips to the dry cleaners in the last 6 years.

1-wife + 3 keets + 2 crappy jobs = NO
I did have to take my marrying/burying suit to the cleaners to get the dust off the shoulders, because I had not worn it in years

I don't have to wear 'office' clothes to work, so I usually don't dryclean anything - but in the spring I do take my wool sweaters to have them cleaned before storing until fall. And I have a couple of skirts that get drycleaned, but I don't wear them very often.

The only things that I have ever had dry cleaned are my leather jacket (what a pain to attmept to wash) and some very large blankets that even the largest washer/dryer that I have seen could not hold.

I have exactly 4 things that are "Dry Clean Only" and I wear them very infrequently. Usually, I'll wear them and then take them to the dry cleaner only when I know I'm gonna have to wear them again.
1. My little black dress.
2. A purple shawl made in India I received as a gift.
3. My wedding dress.
4. Black "poofy" pants. They look like a long skirt, but it's really pants.

Actually, no, I don't dry clean stuff... I try not to buy anything that's dry clean only...
But we just bought a bedspread that's dry clean only, so I guess I'll be at the cleaners eventually...

Just buy a new one when it's time to wash the old one.
I've done that with underwear and socks. When I run out, I just buy new ones instead of doing laundry.

I try to avoid buying things that I have to dry clean, so I'd have to say pretty much never.
However, I do have one or two items in my closet (party dresses) that require cleaning, and my son's Kilt that I have cleaned once a year.

It seems I use the cleaners more in the summer than winter, thanks Tommy Bahama

Mostly dressy outfits. If they say dry clean only, I take them there. I once loaned a favorite black moray taffeta skirt to a roommate. She was so kind to wash it before returning it after wearing it a couple of hours. It was ruined!

(Didn't tell her. Friendship is more important than clothes.)
I take hubby's suits, pants and even shirts to the cleaners.

If the label says dry clean only it gets the DC. Anything that might need ironing goes to the cleaners also.

Once in a very rare while I'll take my suits in to be dry-cleaned, but that's about it.

I only have a couple of items of
clothing that require Dry Cleaning... and I actually like
to iron
, so I very seldom send anything to
the cleaners.

When I worked uniform I always dry cleaned them because it made them last longer and look better.....these days, not so much.
I do have a couple of blazers that I should take in.....but probably won't. I always forget to pick them up.....okay, not really forget....I just don't.

actually, Tommy Bahama does just fine in the washer if you wash and dry with the gentle cycle and hang them up immediately.
I figure that saving the $5-$6 the dry cleaner charges for a silk shirt lets me regularly buy a new Tommy with what I save.
