last year about this time a guy showed up on m'ville.com claiming to be one of the paramedics that worked on Mr. Buffett after he got to shore. That it took him 11 years to find the m'ville webboard, and in that 11 years he had a bit of time to build a festering perception of mistreatment into a full-blown "he's a complete a&^*#^$ and you people are idiots" witlessness session was entertaining. (and if this guy really was one of the folks on the scene of the accident, I can't imagine how someone might have not liked him well enough to kiss his feet...)

I remember that!
He set off quite a firestorm as I recall...

With all due respect, i have to doubt that, when you give it the immediacy of "Jimmy Buffett loses control....." note present tense.... in the subject line, before it was edited to include the year
Now its fine

"With all due respect"....the thread title is a direct cut and paste from the article, if you bothered to read it.....There is no reason to doubt Brahmafear.
I agree, the year is helpful (because I had the same immediate reaction of "What did JB get himself into this time?" as others) but casting aspersions at other, regular, posters your second day on the board isn't a great start either.

(Totally outside the topic of discussion, just noting that "Pleasin and Teasin" is a new screen name for "1 CP" who's been here for almost a year...)

If it was meant to "share some historical facts" as brahmafear said in a subsequent post, why wasn't it posted in the JB Discussion forum? Something that happened 12 years ago isn't exactly "news".

Wierd. Regardless of the truth behind the "paramedic's" claim, in APLA50 Jimmy talks about how upset he was at photographers sticking cameras in his face as he was getting onto the stretcher, etc. and how he'd wished to punch them out. I'm sure the stress of that whole situation would make it tough for anyone to be charming....
And I'm glad this is just a 1994 recap.

Thank you. And, it's too bad people feel the need to jump on and attack others even if they truly are new....

I apologize for thinking that this person was new....one only has the dates to go on, however, it still seems odd that someone on the board for only two days or two years (though in the case of the two year member they might actually be a better position to know) would basically tell someone they are lying because they didn't like how they worded their thread title....especially when it was just the same wording as the first line of the article. That hardly points to some other motive....even if there was one.

I would have been surprised if Jimmy had been signing autographs and mugging for the cameras myself. The "paramedic" evidently was/is an idiot and too self-centered for his line of work.
and here too. Those Citations cost money to replace.... ;D

regardless of their "time in grade", why bother attacking a "newbie"? Carrying that logic to it's next step, you're fair game for anyone who has been here longer when you say something another member thinks is less than intelligent. And to the ridiculous extreme: everyone is fair game for PHJim...
The only really stupid posts are the ones that are the ninth restart of a "when is Jimmy coming to", or a "why are ticket prices so high and why doesn't Jimmy do something" during concert season because either a) the poster was too self-absorbed to notice any other thread on the topic; b) were too lazy to search for possible other threads; or c) too self-important in thinking that no one else could pose the question as well as they could.

Caribbean Amphibian.

And on this tropical island there lives a cousin of mine.
Sometimes he lives in the water, sometimes he lives on the land.
Sometimes he likes to go sun himself on soft Caribbean sand.
Great song.

I appreciate your opinion but dont really need your chiding, even if I were a keet (just a username change from 1 CP).
And I did "bother to read" the thread title (little sarcasm here??) , which didnt originally include the 1994; thats exactly my complaint.
I dont know Brahmafear, but I'm sure that he/she is bright enough to know that that thread title would be misleading. Probably figured it was a joke....maybe it is; I just didnt find it funny at all.
Just my opinion, as folks say around here.
