with all the great Detroit music heritage, if Kid what-ever comes out, I'll puke.

IMHO: Critically Acclaimed Hip Hop, means nothing. The critics are judging hip-hop.???????? Why not try and decide who is the "Critically acclaimed ho bag" Brittney or Christina

Detroit Musicians more deserving:

Bob Seger
Ted Nuggent
Smokie Robinson
Stevie Wonder
Aretha
Tito Freakin jackson
Any living Temp, Box Top or Supreme (other than the coked up former lead)

Bingo. I can't imagine Jimmy scraping that low... (and honestly, if Kid Rock were to play with Jimmy after JBs Camden dedication...which I found hilarious...then the guy's more stupid than I thought...which is hard to fathom).

Feel free to your opinions, but Kid Rock is absolutely no hack. You don't have to like his music but he is a talent and a fantastic performer.

My biggest problem with Kid Rock is his name itself.
Ever since he went to primarily rock and country he should have just dropped the wack rap name. I mean will he be calling himself that 15 years from now?
I actually like a lot of his music and I guess I can relate because I kinda grew up the same way. Half of the time I was into rap and other half I was into country and rock. I can listen to "almost" anything.

I don't think Kid Rock is really Jimmy's style anyway. But what I'd like to see is the Reeferettes starting the second half of the show with "Respect", much like at Fenway Park. Then, being joined by Aretha Franklin! [smilie=coolup.gif]

I was @ Camden but I missed Jimmy's comment about Kid Rock. What did he say ?

He dedicated WDWGDAS to Kid and Pamela...in a very...well... Buffettesque way. I can't remember his exact wording, but I don't think Jimmy looks towards that union for any great inspiration or wisdom.... It reminded me of JBs Tom Cruise comments last year when Tom was going through his particularly peculiar streak....

Now I have to listen to the show when I get home. I'll see if I can pick out JB's comments and pass it along later.

Uncle Bob is awesome. I used to live a couple miles from his house in MI when he was still a relatively-poor musician.

Seger with Buffett???

Now we're talking!! :D :D

I met Bob Seger while waitressing at a bar in Petoskey (northern), Michigan years ago (1981). He came in to hear the band that night (Jelly Roll Blues Band -- they were great fun). He sat in my section with some friends. They had fun, he left a nice tip, and bought a bottle of champagne for the band.

Park Garden Cafe. They've totally changed it around since then.... That summer it was definately the place to be. The place was packed everytime that band played. :D

I'm really looking forward to Bob Seger's new album. I agree that if anyone plays with Jimmy, he would be my pick!

Can anyone sit still when Seger's Night Moves is playing? That is one of the songs I crank up the radio for
