Actor Glenn Ford dies at age 90

BEVERLY HILLS, California (AP) -- Actor Glenn Ford, who played strong, thoughtful protagonists in films such as "The Blackboard Jungle," "Gilda" and "The Big Heat," died Wednesday, police said. He was 90.
From a Marine Private in World War II to a Navy Captain in Viet Nam.

He was one of the main characters in my favorite movie-MIDWAY. (Played the part of Admiral Ray Spruance).

What a wonderful actor and decent man. :( :(

He was so good as Superman's father in the 1st movie.

How sad.

I remember him in Westerns too. Pretty sure he was in The Sackets as the sherrif Tom Selick beat in the big election.

I was a extra in that movie, Filmed partially aboard the USS Lexington in Pensacola, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Ford, what an absolutely wonderful man, he took the time to chat with me and others who were "nobodies". And it is one of my favorite movies too!
