Heading out to the Lake Michigan beach in South Haven this long weekend, hopefully the weather will work out. It's our last weekend at our cottage before we take it down to build a year round house. 8)

Another plug for a great fundraiser...c'mon over:

Howdy PH’s and friends,

This is my annual post in support of a great fundraiser and charity. Labor Day weekend (Sept. 2 – 4) marks the 21st Annual National Kidney Foundation Surf Festival held in Cocoa Beach Florida. I have been an organizer and volunteer of this charity since day one and if you are looking for a fun weekend getaway, please come out and join us….

My bestest friend is a 3 time kidney recipient and a tremendous inspiration to all those affected by kidney ailments….

The local parrothead club has sold event t-shirts on the beach for the past 10 years…a big thanks to them for volunteering…

Here is link for more info: http://www.kidney.org/site/204/surfing.cfm?ch=204

We have 3 days of surfing (professional and amateur), skate demos, live music in the park, food vendors, and a daily Bikini contest….Sunday night is a silent auction with all kinds of donated goodies like fishing charters, paintings by Dan Mackin, http://www.danmackin.com/alt/ surfboards, bikes, etc…so if you are looking for fun time this Labor Day – come support a great cause….thanks – Floridaze…..

You can always head down the hill to escape...we've got wine down here too, ya know. [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

I'll be sticking close to home. I pick up my new KITTEN tonight. :o 3 months old, I've never had a kitten before, my cats have always been older. But this little one needs a good home, she was mauled by a dog and now has a front paw that doesn't work quite right, although it has been getting stronger. I'm in a mad kitten-proofing frenzy. Wasn't supposed to get her until Sat. nite so this was a bit of a curve ball.

50% of the 4 day weekend: in Memphis helping son with some house repair (pregnant daughter-in-law and I will be shopping for some PINK stuff for the baby)

The other 50% will be at home chilling in the pool drinking Coronas or some such libation.
:D

HAVE A GOOD LABOR DAY EVERYBODY !!!!

Varies from year to year.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

We're in Eaton Park on North Shore, just south of Sleepy Hollow Resort. Hopefully we'll be spending some time at The Idler or Fish Tales this weekend, and of course plenty of time on the beach!!

Where do you usually go??

Freuently stop at Fish Tales...went to the Thirsty Perch for the first time last month...pretty good food. It's only about a 15 minute ride our place, and it's always nice to get over to the "big" lake.
