Who is on the road this weekend for the last hurrah of summer? Do you have a Labor Day weekend tradition (other than Great Woods please)?

My wife will pick me up at work and we will head directly to my family's lakehouse in MI. Catch some games on the TV tomorrow and hopefuully a lot of time on the water. I still get sad every year at the end of the summer. Fortunately football season saves me from all out depression.

I figured I'd do something the rest of the country REFUSES to do on a holiday weekend-WORK!
(Working Saturday-which means I'll miss the Iowa/Montana football game here). :(
Oh well, I guess I need to pay for my exotic lifestyle somehow.

Sunday we're going to a friend's birthday party, and Monday I have no idea WHAT I'll be doing.

Heading to Chicago to visit my mom. We really have a lot to do at home, but it's the only weekend we can go until Thanksgiving.

This is just plain *weird*.... My Labor Day tradition since 2001 (epiphany) has been Buffett.... not always GW; one at Jones Beach and once at Wrigley.... This just feels wrong..... :-?

Instead, I'm moving Keet#1 to school on Sunday....

Since the beach is less than an hour away, I'm sure we will find our way over! 8)

I was planning on the beach, but looks like the remains of Ernesto are going to kill that plan...

That's a good match up. A Big Ten favorite vs a Division I-AA team.

Apparently, our plans to sit on our butts on the dock and drink beer at the lake will now become sit on the PORCH and drink beer at the lake. We get the Ernesto leftovers and a predicted pretty much total washout in for the weekend.

Lake + Rain = damp and miserable. Boo.

Staying close.

Littlest one starts preschool on Tuesday so we have some stuff to do to get him ready. Plus, a little house work, a little garage-sale preparation, and a party party party on Sunday. :D :D :D :D :D

I'll be home late Friday after a five-day road trip.

I plan to do nothing all weekend (Ernesto's arrival means I won't even have to cut the grass) if I can get away with it. :D

Basically the same, though my chores for Saturday will be part of the party on Sunday. I'll be working on a new recipe for alcoholic gelatin (don't think I'll be using the name branded Jell-O this time).
Sunday, LDOL, then Monday will be an afternoon hang out session with the local friends and family. All in all, should be a good weekend.

I got the roof rack on last weekend, so the shark will be circling this weekend:

Typically, my dad's family heads to Estes Park for the Labor Day Weekend, but for us, the weekend means moving all of our "too much stuff" to our new house....
