The Scene on the New Album's Cover

Post by phjim »

The picture of Jimmy on the cover of the new album "Take the Weather With You" was taken in St. Barts. The album's cover shows Jimmy leaning against a surf shack at Lorient Beach. Jimmy's pinky finger is pointing to the hill where the ruins of the Autour de Roche is located. The second photo taken in St Barts shows the surf shop in the center of the photo (thanks to Second Star). Jimmy's "new" house in St Barts is rumored to be in Gustavia, with a harbor view.

Thanks Jim!

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

I had a feeling that's where it was. My wife and I had a great day there. We even trespassed and climbed the hill to the Autour de Roche. If you look through the cracks of those charred floorboards, you do indeed see hell.

Hmmmm Jimmy is doing the Shaka or a Hang Ten ...must be headed to catch a wave..... Nice shot!

"Shaka!"
On the islands of Hawaii, it's common practice to send a "Warm Aloha from the Heart" with a simple hand sign known as a “Shaka”. This gesture sends a message to "Hang Loose", which embraces the very laid-back, fun-loving culture of Hawaii.

I don't go to stbartstalk all that often... If I did, it wouldn't be long before I bought a one-way ticket down there.... :o

My wife and I did the same thing back in February. Kind of like a Parrothead's pilgrimage to Graceland. I got the impression from the locals that gave me directions to the place that even if Mr. Letterman doesn't approve of trespassers, the good folks of St. Barts are actually encouraging the faithful to go up to the ruins. They even go so far as to tell you the best way to get around the gate.

And, if you walk on those charred floorboards, you probably will see hell because they are falling to pieces and you will most likely plunge to your death. I know, because one of the pieces of floorboard may or may not be occupying a place of honor behind my Tiki Bar. The tiles on the floor at the Roche' are also coming loose 8)
