I've had no luck finding one in good shape AND in my size 2nd hand/army surplus.

I've been on a quest for one for over a year. I'm gonna give it through Christmas and then I'll buy a new one if one doesn't land under the Santa tree this year.

HMmm...I'd think with the AF academy and bases close you'd have a good army/navy surplus store...Tulsa only has reserve and Guard units...
I love mine, it's all the more special because it's government issue...alas, no where to wear it here....

For some reason I thought the catalogue had them listed for more.
OMG! Everyone wore those in the late 60s early 70s! They get very comfortable with continued wear!

They aren't so close to me.

I'm north west of Denver. It's a good 45 minute drive to the nearest base (Buckley) and an hour and a half to Colo Springs to the AF academy.
There is an Army/Navy surplus in my town, though, but I haven't seen what Im looking for in there.

Well, I have a 9 year old little girl who HAD to have for-real saddle shoes for school this year, so I am sorely becoming an expert on WHITE shoe polish.

Awwww, Waynie!
You're cute!
She and her daddy planted daffodil and tulip bulbs in the front yard today. It was very sweet.
They are going to make a sign this winter: "Daddy's Daffodils, Tori's Tulips"
And I got to be the hero tonight when I found the Missing Math Homework!
