I love cookbooks, I probably have about 30.
I always like trying new recipes ( a couple times a week), and always buy new cookbooks whenever I travel.
I also love Cooking Light magazine---I try a lot from there!!

I read this and thought ...oh my gosh, I have a White House Cookbook from 1968 and then realized you said
1887!!!
Thanks for the inspiration! I've been sitting here typing up all the names of my cookbooks and I'm on #35 so far. I had to just throw together tuna salad I was SO BUSY.

Grounding someone because they can't read?

That's pretty harsh....

if they spend more time in their room without TV and telephone and computer... perhaps they will read more.

I have several bookshelfs full... but I will never top the 8,000 + level- not enough space
And I have a theory about cookbooks- if you get one recipe from a cookbook that you love and use multiple times, it was worth whatever you paid for that book.
Most often used are Joy of Cooking, one of the big Martha Stewart ones and that plaid Better Homes & Gardesn one.
