By the way, it's funny how the Weather Channel refers to Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Illinois as the Midwest when Louisiana is further west than Michigan but is considered the Southeast. Those northern states should be called the Mideast and the true Midwest states like Iowa, Colordado, etc...are the actual middle of the West.
Personally, without looking at a map, I have no clue where I-10 runs, but it seems you're being pretty selective and picky about where you think Jimmy SHOULD play and tour.

If you think Nashville in November felt like Michigan? Have you actually been in Michigan in November?

I don't think I've ever heard Michigan as part of the Southeast. [smilie=q-mark.gif]

Uhh... correction needed, Miss Penny.
The Midwestern United States (or Midwest) is a region of the north-central
and northeastern United States of America, located entirely inland. The
term's etymology is now somewhat archaic, as the region's states
were once a part of the Northwest Territory and the region was known as
being a part of the "Middle West" of the United States before the Louisiana
Purchase. http://help.com/wiki/1497292/midwest
It's a history thing, you see, not a geography thing.

thanks for the correction. I was commenting on Ducky's naming of Colordado, and sometimes CO is called part of the midwest.

I didn't need a big deep breath on my response. It's not like Ducky's definition of something counts for much, all you have to do is go back to the definition he claims for "cover versions" of a song. It was more like chiding him that once more, his definition and reality weren't exactly in synch.

I-10 runs from LA to JAX, mom :) It runs thru Houston, thru NO, then jumps north to go thru MOB and across thru Pensacola and Tallahassee. South of I-10 for the definition of the "deep south" doesn't leave a lot of room.

How 'bout the Bottom of the South. There's a saying in New Orleans, everyone North of I-10 is a Yankee. But that's a mentality in New Orleans and the surrounding area that is...just as whacked as the rest of it all.

That is more of what I was getting at - the I-10 route that would be handy to trek on for a tour. A lot of people tend to call the Gulf Coast region of the Gulf Coast states the Deep South. North and South Carolina is not exactly deep. More like Mid South.

The Midwest - it is archaic. Why someone confused Michigan being in the Southeast ha ha! That's funny. It needs to be updated and fixed. Of course, if someone were to write a song about it and if Jimmy COVERED it ha ha ha ha ha hahah COVER SONG COVER SONG GET YER STALE POPCORN.

Have I ever been to Michigan in November? Yes. That is why I said what I said about Nashville. I've been to Michigan in winter, spring, summer and fall. So don't go tellin' me about winter. But those people in Michigan need to learn a lot about what hot really is. It gets up to 80 and people think they're gonna die.

Y'all are funny, so serious about everything!

Anything south of I-78 in New Jersey is the deep south as far as I'm concerned.

About the touring complaining: Reality: I know Jimmy comes to NO "a lot". I'm not complaining (and if I am so what), I'm really just Wondering: why doesn't he tour through this region? Not in particular New Orleans - which everyone can't make even if it is Jazz Fest and he's here "a lot" - but just the Gulf Coast states. And it's just that exactly - part of A tour, like he does, or has done, in FLA for one week in the winter. New Orleans, Jackson, Biloxi, Mobile, Birmingham, a lot of others, pick whatever one etc...I would imagine that most of the towns/cities being so close together might mean less of a draw but then not every place holds 20,000 people either.

The money is obviously a big part of it, which probably explains why other big drawing acts stay away from New Orleans in general (I think it's the amout of taxes that Louisiana is horrible about when it comes to big music shows - a reason the Stones have stayed away) and there are a lot more fans in the colder parts of the country. It's slightly odd that he'll play a baseball stadium or a football stadium and the occasional hockey arena - which there is in New Orleans and Nashville and smaller arenas in Biloxi and Mobile and Pensacola - in cities where he usually does tour but won't play those venues among the Gulf Coast states. Maybe if he ever does he can open the show with a COVER SONG like Stars On The Water......
