Houghton Lake MI
We are looking to go to Houghton Lake for a long weekend. Does anyone know of a good place to rent snowmobiles around there? We are also looking for a nice cabin/cottage to rent for the weekend. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Tip Up Town, which is held at Houghton Lake in January, is always great fun. My folks live just east of there.
If you do rent snowmobiles, do be careful while on the lake. Near the inlets the ice doesn't freeze over which according to my brother is hard to see at night.....Hence his snowmobile went to the bottom of the lake.
Most of the lake is fine...just watch what you're doing and unless familiar with what you're doing don't ride at night.
They have a ton of events during Tip Up Town and the whole area is rocking.
