Roger Waters

Post by MonumentBeach »

I saw Roger Waters here at Great Woods last night and just as any Floyd or classic rock fan would expect, it was visually and musically stunning. The sound quality was top notch. I have never seen the amount of audio equipment that Waters had last night...even up on the lawn.

Is anybody else planning on catching this tour?

Here is a review from the Boston Globe...

Wanted to, but with my travel schedule, it hasn't worked out. I also missed out on the David Gilmour tour in Chicago earlier in the year.

Roger Waters killed Pink Floyd. The only thing I'd pay to see him do is step out in front of a speeding bus.

I thought the Who was playing at the Garden tonight.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

I see that he's touring our country and slamming Bush.

BUSH BASHING PIG HITS MADISON SQUARE GARDEN
Sun Sep 17 2006 18:53:38 ET

ROGER WATERS [PINK FLOYD] CONCERT TOUR HITS NORTH AMERICA AND NYC WITH FLYING PIGS, URGING DEM VOTES IN ELECTION, 'IMPEACH BUSH' WRITTEN ON REAR OF PIG FLOATING OVER AUDIENCE... One concertgoer writes: 'Seeing Bush's name written across the pig's arse made me howl'... The pig had graffiti. 'New Yorkers/Don't be led to the slaughter/Vote November 7'... another attendee played off the hit 'Another Brick in the Wall': ''We don't need no thought control,' even from Mr. Waters'...

Another sends a review: 'I attended the Roger Waters 9/15 show at Jones Beach, Wantagh, NY. At one point during the show Waters juxtaposed pictures of the President, Karl Rove, Ronald Reagan, and Margaret Thatcher with pictures of Osama bin Laden, Mao Zedong, Stalin, and other world tyrants. Rogers asked whether 'these people [Arabs] are really are enemies'. This took place during his anti-Bush/Blair song 'Leaving Beirut' in which he claimed 'that Texas education must have really f*cked you up' and asked why Tony the 'US poodle/pawn' is a warmongerer'...

He and Neil Young have a lot of nerve.

Be fair. Pimk Floyd broke up over religious differences.

Roger thought he was GOD, the others didn't agree...

The show was one of the most amazing concerts I've ever been to (I've been to 100's and 100's) Nick Mason played drums for the second set which was Dark Side of the Moon from start to finish! 2/5 of Pink Floyd is 10 times as good as 1/5.
As for his commentary on things, it's a free country. If you don't like his views, don't listen. I happen to think he's dead on right!
