My 'lil actress has been cast, Part III

Post by buffettbride »

WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!

I'm so excited to tell you my daughter has been cast as the role of Rhoda Penmark in a play called The Bad Seed which will be showing at a local community theater.

The Bad Seed was originally a novel by William March in the early 1950's and written as a play for Broadway by Maxwell Anderson. The play was such a hit, it was made into a movie starring the Broadway cast in 1956.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0048977/
http://www.brightlightsfilm.com/28/badseed.html

She is just THRILLED to be able to do this part and has worked very hard through the lengthy audition process.

So anyway, please help me in congratulating Victoria and telling her to break a leg! Practice begins a week from tomorrow and performances are the first three weekends in November for a total of 8 performances!

(hint..hint..Denver people, you should come see her!!!!)

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

As a fellow Thespian I offer my heartfelt congratulations.

She will enter a new world through this, one that teaches so much about the diversity in people.

Try not to worry about the cast parties, go yourself!

Theater people are a blast!

I might actually have time to read a book while I'm at rehearsals with her!! I'm looking forward to it!

I think the most exciting thing to her right now is she goes in tomorrow for costume measurements and to meet the rest of the cast. Next week she gets to have her picture taken for the cover of the playbill. :D :D :D

Sept 18th. She'll have just under 2 months before the show starts to rehearse. Plus she has to learn to play Clair De Lune on the piano.

Thanks! Yes, she's both an actress and a Parrothead. I have plenty to worry about!!

(and interestingly on the way home from dinner tonight, Tony was in the back seat singing "oh oh oh Mexico" out of nowhere )

(aren't you in France Miss Underpants)???

It's a small theater.....seats maybe 50-100 people. I think Victoria is gonna sell the place out every night!

Closing night would ROCK for a BNr get together. It runs the first 3 weekends in November.

Thanks Paige! You're the first one to comment on that. The movie and the play end just a bit differently...and the play ending is WAYYYYYYYYYY creepier.

It's definitely a role that will stand out on her resume as an incredible accomplishment. She's excited to play a role that's off the beaten path.
